Damn right! This means that we don’t have to have a soph as a starter and a frosh as backup. If the starter had gotten hurt it really would have been a problem. This way Ramsey can be the back-up and Fromm can be red-shirted. That said, I still like Sam Vaughn and it appears he is never going to get a chance.

“I do think at the quarterback position that it’s a unique position. That there’s only one on the field, unless you’re a really weird offense,”

My suspicious mind told me that Kirby was holding Chaney back by not letting him dial up a really weird offense

Hope Ramsey gets some playing time as a back up. He deserves something for sticking around and solving a serious depth problem. I hope we are far enough ahead in the cupcake games that he can, at least, play the fourth quarter.
Did you notice Dawg Nation apparently hasn’t gotten the word on the Ap. State kickoff time?

Same could be said of Sam Vaughn. But Vaughn never left.

Vaughn is only a redshirt sophomore. Still time left. As the wise man said: “We’ll see.” I like Vaughn he’s just been lost in the depth chart.

  9. Not sure how big this is as I’m unsure how good Ramsey is. By that I mean I’m not sure he’s good enough to be the guy who replaces Eason. I hope he is. I want him to be, as that would mean redshirting Fromm, but I question whether or not the coaches would roll with him for a game or two. But, should UGA keep Eason upright all year, perhaps he can come in and hand the ball off. That would be ideal.

It would likely depend on which point and the season and how long Eason would be out. Hopefully we do not find out. A successful year for Eason, and a red shirt for Fromm would likely be best for the program.

I wish the best for Ramsey and he deserves to be applauded for coming back.

Nick, Sony, recruits, etc. plus now Ramsey and even Rodrigo have bought into whatever Kirby is selling to stay with the team despite many reasons to pursue their self-interests elsewhere. This is a really interesting story line given what we are led to believe about CKS’s prickly personality. Team chemistry is a huge component of championship level football. Maybe there’s more going on with the KoolAid than we think?

I agree. The kids are certainly buying in, which is a key part of any good team.

And I’m glad to have Brice. DGD, and I hope it works out for him and the team.

Brice Ramsey’s a good guy and a DGD. I hope that the season plays out in such a way that rewards him with the chance to do something memorable in the fall.

I think this also sends a positive message about what the players are thinking about Kirby, too. Brice didn’t have to come back…but he did.

The fake punt showed he has better wheels than we assumed. When he was signed, he reputedly had a very good arm. As far as what’s between the ears, 5 years of experience ought to take of that. Assuming Fromm beats him out for 2nd, we have maybe the best 3rd string QB in the country.
