Huntley Johnson can’t save you now.

Welp, this is an interesting development, to say the least.

This one’s not related to drugs, apparently.

Florida’s press release did not specify a reason for the suspensions, but sources informed GatorBait.net that they stem from a misuse of school-issued funds intended for specific use.

Some of the players involved used the funds from part of their scholarship agreement to buy electronics equipment, then later reported the cards stolen. Some players sold the electronics equipment purchased with the school-issued funds.

On the bright side, this takes care of one potentially tough decision McElwain was supposedly facing.

Callaway’s involvement is noteworthy because he had already faced internal discipline stemming from a misdemeanor marijuana citation in the spring. Coach Jim McElwain has never explicitly stated that he wouldn’t be suspended for the Michigan game, but said at the team media day that it would be “all hands on deck” and had previously said Callaway has already faced internal consequences.

Prior to the spring citation, the star receiver hadn’t previously been charged with any form of marijuana offense, but he did admit in a Title IX investigation of an alleged sexual assault in 2015 that he was too high to have sex.

He wasn’t going to commit bank fraud, but then he got high.

Senator, I am not sure what you mean by Huntley Johnson can’t save them..they will never do any time, and apart from that first game, I predict that they will play the rest of the year. Not exactly a Get Out of Jail Free card, but pretty close. As talented as Callaway is physically, I would bet by now he’s dropped at least two rounds (and the money that goes with that) when he gets drafted. NFL can’t have that kind of stuff and no one is going to pay high $ for the kind of crap he seems to constantly be in.

Shouldn’t the ambassador SOS have made that announcement for the Gators? First game and all you know.

I never understand what the big deal is.. why aren’t we told what they did to get suspended?

They charged electronic equipment to a school credit card(how did they have access?), sold it and pocketed $1500 ea(?). Just low-level stealing according to FU, but I think it reaches a felony range(you never can tell with FU rules). No sweat; they are suspended for the Mich opener and will probably have to run steps.

With H-J pressing on one side, media pressure on another, Title IX investigations pending, and something slimy building from underneath, this may be the tip of FU’s Global Warming event. Makes one think that Huge Freeze drove through on the way to the beach to visit Miami’s escort business. I hear that everything is flourishing down there.

Blowhardbough will act as if he’s won the SEC if he squeeks past a decimated UF team..and the media will use it to dawgrade the SEC..the East in particular..and if UGA wins the East..we will hear how UF was destroyed by Michigan and winning the SECE is a weak accomplishment. For those reasons, I’ll hope Florida finds a way to beat MI. Either way, I’ll be happy in one sense and miserable in another.
But get ready to hear how the Big has surpassed the SEC. If Meechagin wins we’ll likely hear it from JH himself.

Gee this was kind of like the guys that deposited their checks via internet then cashed them. Didn’t Mark end up kicking some of them off the team?

There are reports of these 7 UF students purchasing over $150,00 in electronics, supplies and clothing from the UF bookstore using scholarship credit cards for which there was enefficent monies in the card accounts for such purposes. $ 500 is a misdemeanor felony charge, not sure how $150,00 ranks as a felony charge in the state of Florida.
Needles to say the one of the said auF athletes was charged with TitleIX sexual abuse and months later charged with possession of marijuana possession and paid a fine of $301 but that discipline was handled internally and was good to go for the Michigan game.

I think felonies for athletes and normal auF students must be handled internally at the University of Florida. Time perhaps a set of rules and enforcement should be a common thread among S.E.C.schools.
For preferencecheck out Sagan and the internal handling of Bama player HAND which will not miss a play in the F.S.U. opener because all matters are handled internally.
How long would I be out of jail if I ran up debts on a fradulant credit card say for $500 unless inhadva University lawyer to bail me out.

By the way these items were then sold for profit to other UF students. If memory serves me correct there is a law about selling stolen property

School is not pressing charges and they received only a one non-conference game suspension.

I would say he saved them pretty well.

“Disappointing choices” is the last I heard their coach charge them with, so what are their laws in Fl for such a terrible crime?
