The next time someone accuses me of being a real Kirbyphile, I’m going to imagine Loran Smith standing beside me saying, “hold my beer”.

      I would suggest it’s both. Sure, you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken s—, but if your recipe for chicken salad sucks or you do it wrong, it doesn’t matter how good the ingredients are. It will be mediocre at best.

    At least it’s relevant, if nothing else. I often see stories at The Dawgbone (which I am not the least bit inclined to click on) about a 2nd string volleyball player from 1972.

    I’m shocked, shocked I say that Loran would put a positive spin on UGA. I know everybody is just having fun with this because we all know there has never been a bigger Homer than Loran. Even after Donnan went off on him the man kept his mouth shut. DGD

    “Early on when I had a chance to spend time with him, I had a message. I, and many of my friends, will soon be getting long in the tooth.” I’ve got some news for Loran . . . he’s already on the steep downhill side of 70 and closely pushing 80. How much longer in the tooth will he get? Nevertheless, I still consider him a DGD.
