UCF, you beat an uninterested Auburn team that lost 3 other games in addition to yours … you didn’t play in the game that everyone agreed would determine the national champion. Enjoy the results of your season and accept the fact that you were #6.

No one outside of Orlando takes UCF’s title claim seriously. Why would Alabama’s AD even go there?

Perhaps it’s some deep down guilt b/c they didn’t have to win a championship to get in, all they had to do was lose to their biggest rival on the road…? And then UCF was actually able to do what they couldn’t? Makes me wonder…

I’m with Alabama on this one. What Fanny White fails to equate is that Their so called national championship moniker is no more worth celebrating than Alabama’s basketball win. The more UCF talks, the worse it looks.

This is the argument I make to troll my Bammer in-laws: 1) UCF won every game on their schedule; 2) Alabama is not champions of their state or their conference; 3) UCF beat the only team to beat Bama; 4) If Georgia had beaten Bama, Georgia would have more of an argument over UCF because Georgia also beat Auburn on a neutral field and would have nullified their only loss, but Bama does not have this argument; 5) UCF’s national championship is every bit as legitimate as many of the NC’s Alabama claims and is untainted by universally recognized poor officiating; and then to really go for the jugular I say that in the college football world, Alabama benefits from the same sort of inherent bias and preferential treatment Barack Obama enjoyed from the mainstream press (other than Fox). If you have any Bammers in your life, I suggest you change your tune on UCF, of course I see the logic in opposing UCF’S claim, but supporting it is SO much more fun!

There’s a difference between Bammers and Alabama fans. Their fans realize that the two best teams in the country played that night and their team made one more play. The Bammers are those who troll every Georgia social media account and act like they are superior when it’s an inferiority complex beyond anything contemplated by tech fans and alumni.

That’s sort of how I felt after the 2012 SEC Championship, and I was happy to compliment them on making one more play then. This game emotionally was a much different animal to me because of the atrocious officiating.

People need to please stop blaming the officials for the loss in the championship game. Blaming officials for losses is a long time tradition among the fans of the chickens of the University of South Carolina. If asked or if it comes up in conversation; my take on the championship game is that Bama made one more play than we did and their defensive line took control of the line of scrimmage in the second half.
Blaming the officials for a loss reeks of sour grapes and makes Georgia fans look like a bunch of whiny spoiled brats and foolish, like it has made South Carolina fans look for decades..

I watched the game with a bunch of non-dawgs. It was the consensus in the room that Georgia got hosed. Blaming the officials reeks of sour grapes when it’s a two touchdown loss. It’s a valid point when the game is decided on a single play in OT.

The blame is on our staff for their 2nd half strategy which made the game close enough for the officials to change the outcome with whiffs on 3 significant calls. My take is Bama fans should be sending us thank you notes for the gift. (Same could be said for the Rose Bowl win…minus the horrible calls, Riley gifted us that one in the 2nd half.)

I generally do not bitch about officiating, however there are two games in my 30 + years of watching the Dawgs that the piss poor officiating will forever taint: 1) 1999 Georgia-GT game; and 2) the NC game from January. We got railroaded in both, you don’t have to search very hard on the internet for columns by non-Dawg fans about the total crap job of officiating done on January 8. I don’t buy that it was a conspiracy or anything like that, but officiating straight up cost us the game. As I said above, I was gracious about the 2012 SEC championship loss, which was a very similar game, that we just lost on the last play. January 8 was flat out theft, whether the zebras meant to or not, they decided the national championship this year, it may sound like sour grapes, but it is the truth.
