I really feel bad for Hurts. His game processor on pass plays is just hopelessly skewed at this point. Great kid, but it’s just not clicking for him.

Pruitt has never had a bad football team to work with, at least in college. I guess time will tell if he has the patience and determination it takes to rebuild. The two other guys that accepted the job have pretty solid success building/rebuilding programs.

Hurts has been overrated since day one. But hey boys, he’s 119-1 as a starter. I’d be 117-3 playing qb for Bama.

Regarding attendance, some of these figures are absurdly inflated. 65K at the UT game? Are you kidding me? Did they include the population of surrounding zip codes into that figure? At least AU – for all their shadiness – didn’t try to pull the wool over our eyes with their actual attendance figures.
As for Pruitt, it’s no surprise that he’s pissed and has decided to go ahead and piss everyone else off to boot. While he’s a good coach, IMO his lack of EQ most likely will cause him problems down the road. When you take over a program that has a losing SEC record this century and is coming off a winless SEC campaign, to expect a packed house that is fired up is a bit delusional. Somebody should tell Pruitt this is why they are guaranteeing him 25 million dollars over 6 years to fix the program.
It’s almost as if Pruitt expected to UT to be in just slightly worse shape than Bama, instead of the grand canyon sized gap that currently exists.

Pruitt took the worst job of a traditional power possible. Meddling AD, an entitled fan base, mediocre recruiting base, and a fading brand combine to at least one explosion by Pruitt in 2018.

I thought McGlinchy was completely overrated. That’s not meant to Dawgrade an opponent. He was big as a house but slow as molasses.

To me, he looked like a typical Big-Whatever lineman. Huge, but slow. He’s great against big and slow Big-Whatever D-lineman.

That moment with Chubb and Michel ranks up there with the coolest things I’ve ever seen in Sanford Stadium. If anyone deserves a full house giving them a standing ovation, it’s those two DGDs.

Pruitt inherited a soft team and a program that’s been poorly coached for over a decade. He’s an intense, hard nosed and egotistical guy that demands perfection. He’s not somebody you want to cross. His players are either going to rise to his expectation level or he’ll weed them out. It’s going to take him at least 3 years to get the type of players he wants. The question is whether he can have enough success to keep Fulmer and the crazy Vol fans happy while he rebuilds the program.

It’s a mistake to think that just being an asshole is an effective means of achieving results.

Time will tell for Pruitt (obviously). When they first hired him, I thought “damn, they’re probably going to get pretty good.” I’ve waned a little bit on that.
I’m also starting to think that Kirby may have had way more than he gets credit for in actually constructing the Tuscaloosa death star, as opposed to just being a Saban disciple who happened to catch on quickly in the head seat.

I think this is true, that Kirby had a lot to do with the Empire. I am amazed that nfl guys that came from the dark side don’t slip up and say something now and then. Especially with all the social media, Lacy or Julio could easily tweet something like “yeah, Kirby is missed”.
