Yeah, I’d say the talent base has been seriously upgraded under Kirby.
The projected first and second team offense for #UGA on Saturday vs Austin Peay would include:
8 former 5*
8 former 4*15 total that were in the #Rivals250
Does not include James Cook (former 5* RB who will likely have some role in the offense) and Jamaree Salyer (former 5*).

“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
And that includes linemen! There have been many four star skill players but not many hogs in the past. That is the exciting part.

The best part of the recruiting right now is that they all seem to be pretty decent guys. Aside from Rochester and the bb gun deal, I can’t recall too much where the police have been involved. A lot of solid, very solid qualifiers. In other words, no 4* or 5* guys that another team was willing to pass on in favor of another 4 or 5* guy. We seem to be getting pretty decent guys in addition to really good football players. Of course, it’s early and the new UGAPD chief is on a scooter ‘education’ campaign right now. We’ll see.

Having the depth so that guys realize they can be replaced does wonders for keeping everyone’s head on straight.
