HC @CoachWMuschamp on why he doesn’t want to re-schedule the cancelled Marshall game for December 1st, weekend of the SEC Championship:

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Still laughing but I suppose it does send a message to the team that the season isn’t over and he expects them to play hard.

It’s going to be even funnier if SC finishes the regular season 5-6 because they didn’t reschedule the game.

I would guess they’d scramble to get it like FSU did last year.

They really needed this week to get their mind right. They’re going to spend another week dwelling on us instead of getting on with their season. Given that Boom is already walking back the offense, that’s not for the best. My guess is that if he’ll just stick to his guns, consistency will pay off in the long run of the season. They’ve got plenty to play for and what they’re doing can work for them given what they have; but now they get to sit here and think about all that went wrong (which was more about us than about them, honestly) and overthink it.

They don’t play another team as good as the team that just whipped their asses until the last game against Clemson. The only team that might(?) come close is A&M. There’s really no need to blow everything up just because they got wrecked by a superior opponent.
LikeLike
Agreed. Just because they got wrecked by the number 3 team in the land is no reason to abandon their offensive strategy. Now if they’d been beaten by South Florida, however, that would be another thing entirely.

And it was glorious.

Good observation, stoop. Best to stay the course and not panic because you lost badly to an excellent team.

As their offensive line has been quoted this week as saying “we sent Georgia a message”, what can you expect? Cocklandia is an alternative universe and they are all the Black Knight from Monty Python.

Well, bear in mind they didn’t say what the message is.

the message was apparently “make us your bitches, please.”

To be fair, UGA got blasted by the cocks in 2012 to the tune of 35-7 but we still ended up going to the championship game. Crazier things have happened

To be clear – South Carolina has never won the East without beating UGA.

Lol. Well they lost 3 conference games the only time they ever won it, so….

That is actually a very good point watcher. The ass whipping we took in 2012 was at least as bad as the one we gave the Cocks this year. Having said that, there is about zero SC goes to Atlanta.

They look like contenders to me except they can’t run the ball or stop the run, and their best playmaker looks overrated. Will’s headed for the hot seat after the Clemson game.

The replies to that tweet are hilarious. Plenty of delusional cock fans who still think they can win the East. Note that in order to think that you have to believe SCU is good enough to run the table on the rest of their conference schedule and Georgia will lose two out of their remaining seven.

I can see us losing two (LSU and Auburn). I can also see SCAR losing two more (A&M and Ole Miss). I don’t see them winning out or us dropping 3.

Boom has learned to be as delusional as his fan base is in a short period of time. While doubtful, we may end up losing two conference games, but what’s much more doubtful is that USCjr is going to win their next 7.
I know he is positioning with his team that their goal of being in Atlanta isn’t gone after week 2, but if they haven’t rescheduled that game by mid-October, he’s insane (unless Marshall thinks they’re going to be in the CUSACG).

he doesn’t have to believe it. He just has to make them think he believes it, because he knows THEY believe it.

Marshall is in Conference USA. They also have a Championship Game scheduled for that day.

As someone already posted I believe WM is planning on taking his family to watch the game from the stands…. and a trip to the Varsity.

As much as I enjoy Sakerlina pain, what I am really looking forward to is Jeremy Pruitt and his relationship with the Vile Fans after Georgia, Auburn, and Bama beat Big Urnge a combined 150-21 over a 4 week stretch.

Hey, now that we humiliated them on a national stage, I’m the Gamecocks’ biggest fan. I hope the rest of their season goes very well. Just not as well as ours.

by very well, I assume you mean “lose to UK, Vandy, and Missouri, plus all non conference and SEC west games.” I am all for them beating Florida and Tennessee.

It looks much better for us if South Carolina ends the season looking like an outstanding football team. And with our frankly embarrassing non-conference schedule, we may need all the help we can get making the playoff. I’ve never been one to let animosity toward a rival team prevent me from wanting what’s best for Georgia football.
Except Florida. To hell with Florida.

I see your point, I just disagree. To me, it’s like this: As a 1 loss SEC champ, we are in. As an undefeated SEC champ, we are in. As a 1 loss SECC loser? Possibly in, depending on how we lost and who else has 1 loss. In any of those scenarios, how the Chikins finish is basically irrelevant. YMMV

I hope the only remaining conference games they win are Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

To each his own, but I wouldn’t pull for Florida or Tennessee with both engines out on the team plane. Even the strangely overconfident Chikins seem like the lesser of two evils.

There is an opportunity to regain their national prestige and hold their heads high again, Va Tech lost a game for this Saturday and has an open date on October 20 as well. Or, they could get a lower level team like UCF, who also had a game cancelled this week and has a mutual bye date on October 20. Which will it be cocks?

West Virginia would also be a good opportunity and a home game if they played their cards well.

Right, left that one off. Give you odds they take the cupcake, they had enough “prestige” last week.

Their posts demonstrate that they remain delusional as seen by their posting of a td play that represents the game to them – I guess.

I guess he is hoping LSU is the real deal and can beat UGA at home and that Auburn can come in and do something that they haven’t manage to do since 2004. Beat Georgia at Georgia… Oh, and not lose another SEC game this year.
