Forget Hate Week. It’s HATE DAY!

Long time readers of the blog know that my inspiration for launching this vessel was the 2006 Georgia-Georgia Tech game.  (You could look it up!)

Reggie Ball is my muse.

I don’t care for Tech, in other words.  I’ve been spit at, snarled at, had young punks come running up to scream in my face, all for the cardinal sin of walking out of Bobby Dodd Stadium with a smile on my face.

Losing the last two face offs in Sanford Stadium has sucked beyond words.  (Although I did try to express my dissatisfaction.)  It’s time to kill that trend today.

I’m picking the Dawgs to cover the spread today because it feels right.  Don’t @ me, but do share your thoughts in the comments.

My first game at the nerd stadium was 1979, I am a little kid sitting with my uncle in the old tech alumni section. Every time I stood up to cheer or sing our fight song, ice and Coke would get thrown at me. And all that after watching the nerd fans throw that green slime stuff at our cheerleaders. Almost 40 years later, it is still the same in that stadium. I told my 14 year old son that I will never take him to a game there, cause if somebody did the stuff to my son that was done to me, I would end up in jail somewhere….

  4. I think we would have to be creative to lose this game, and I dont put it past us to find a way to do that…but, we would have to really fail epic in many facets and I just dont see that happening. For all the talk about rain, I dont see that being an advantage to a team that runs option. All those short backwards passes are based on timing and rain doesn’t improve the efficiency of that action. I’d love to see an pick six on a pitch, and it could happen! As much as I try to worry myself to a Tech win, I really struggle to see it happen.

I’ve been to all sorts of sporting events from Knoxville to Daytona to even Yankee Stadium and I’ve never seen the violence and aggressive behavior I’ve seen at Mark Richt Field. There are some serious issues in that fan base.

Fuck Tech and that antiquated piece of shit then ride around on. I hope we beat them so bad they collapse their whole football program.

When Auburn and Tech have played, I get asked “who are you rooting for” and my response is the same as during the Florida-Tennessee games…I’m pulling for God to show mercy on this earth by sending one of those meteors to hit square on the 50 yard line.

The first time I said Hell in front of my father was in the Dudd’s hellhole at Grant’s trash dump as a 10 year old in 1971 when Jimmy Poulos went over the top to beat the bumbling bees late in the game.
“And to HELL with GA tech.”
I still remember my father smiling!!

Feel at ease Dawg Nation. The fact that we are the superior team is beyond debate. Kirby is “not” RIcht and will have the troops fired up and ready. Also, never forget that Kirby is a born and bred DAWG. Most important fact is that Kirby is “undefeated” in revenge games and this game will be no different. Expext the dawgs to build an early lead, force the nerds to play catchup and then beat them into submission. Dawgs win, 42-17.
    GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Dawgs will play focused and Tech has 2 or 3 costly turnovers. They will get their yards and some points but I agree with ee above on the score.

Techs best bet in this game each year is it to face an unfocused Dawg team. With Bama and CFP looming that will not happen.

I may have mentioned this before in a comment on a previous nerd-related post, but my introduction to earnest GT fandom was after COFH in 1983 or 1984. A weasel and his dorky sidekick at my high school were boasting the following Monday about how they’d gone around after the game slashing tires on cars with UGA stickers. While that was pretty extreme behavior, I learned quickly that it was just one manifestation of the sour misery that is the GT fanbase.

We usually go to Dodd when the Hokies play there. A few years ago they had won and we were leaving and one of them saw my Virginia Tech jacket and grabbed me and tried to give me a noogie. I turned and hit him so hard it lifted him off his feet! He was obviously a student and I’m an old man so it wasn’t fair. Fuck em.

If Kirby is having us kickoff short to hope to pin tech down it’s an example of him overthinking things like LSU. Otherwise it must be the cold and/or wind explaining those KO’s?

May we always have PJ and his arrogance. Just the wrong time and play to go for it on 4th there. Pin us deep, maybe get a stop, get the score and go in at the half down 7 and getting the ball after the half to tie. Instead, we’re up 21. Genius!

        I’ve no doubt of that.

But that’s not what they were discussing. They were actually asking if UGA beats UA in SECCG, are we sure UGA is better than UA.

Not, if UGA wins, does a one-loss UA go in ahead of OSU, etc.

Yeah..he was trying to crack the subject of Georgia being left out even if they win next week. What a dumbass thing to even mention…the other guy shut him up pretty quickly with some FACTS…but he can hope. All day all the TV mouthers have fawned over Mich/OSU..and the Iron Bowl. They are panicked that the SEC has not just one but two death stars and that the BIG sucks.
Great domination by UGA over one of the best teams the ACC can field nowadays.
As Jake Fromm said after the game..everything is coming together very nicely for the Dawgs. Just like most of the GTPrs have thought it would go..starting out talented but young..finishing up very solid.

Also, Auburn is still sticking with Alabama, and Vandy is beating the shit out of Tennessee. Pretty good afternoon games. Too bad FSU couldn’t get their shit together for a week against Florida.

Sen. Blutarsky…you should know that on one play, when the GT QB was running for his life and threw it far out of bounds, the TV announcer said, “He Reggie Balls it”. I thought that comment saved an otherwise unremarkable call.

No longer go to the Tech games. Had my vehicle vandalized awhile back after a Dawg win. Not worth getting arrested by beating the hell out of some Tech bastard.
Mark Bradley and Paul Johnson are tight. Think Bradley is infatuated with PJ. You can carry it from there.
SEC you have a huge officiating problem. Better get it straighten out this season, or some very astute booster is going to take you to court over it and the NCAA.
A&M / LSU game was one of the worst officiated game ever! Was that an illegal formation? Sure as hell looked like that to us. 6 players in the backfield and no call.
SEC is obligated to sit that crew for awhile!
