My Mumme Poll ballot, Week 7

Screenshot_2019-09-30 (1) Senator Blutarsky ( MummePoll) TwitterIn the end, I wound up with last week’s ballot, minus a certain local team we’re familiar with.

  • Alabama
  • Clemson
  • LSU
  • Ohio State
  • Oklahoma
  • Penn State
  • Wisconsin

True, Penn State’s win wasn’t impressive, but Iowa is a pain in the ass to play, and I’m not yet prepared to ding a team that manages to survive and advance.

There aren’t any one-loss teams I’m considering, but I am keeping a loose eye on Minnesota, which is playing good offense and ought to get to 8-0 before its next challenge.

My ballot time was less than ten minutes this week.

I went with “who would play in NY6 if they happened right now.” (But I made 2 mistakes: the ACC is guaranteed the Orange Bowl and I cant count).

    Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma

LSU, Wisconsin, Oregon, Boise State, Penn State, and Utah

If I had the right number and accounted for the OB, then I would add Notre Dame and Virginia.

I chose what I think are all teams that technically still have a chance. The one loss teams if they run the table could all be in the playoff. All except Auburn I think have a good chance to do so. I should have maybe left Auburn out.

    • If your criteria was technically “win out” and they are in, why would you leave UGA out? I had Auburn on my ballot last week and couldn’t knock them out on a bye week (although I struggled with having them on my ballot last week).

I didn’t have them on my ballot either, but if they win out including the SECCG, they will be in.

It wasn’t necessarily “win out and their in” as much as the reality of them winning out in my opinion. Unless there are drastic changes, I don’t see UGA beating Florida or Auburn. My opinion is Mullen will out scheme Lanning just enough to keep steal the game. Florida’s D-lime and secondary will shut down UGA. Auburn, west division road game.

I don’t think Auburn can beat both LSU and Bama so I should have left them out. I think the rest of the 1 – losses have a realistic chance to win out. Very subjective and opinionated, I don’t deny that!

Senator, you are asking a bonus question, but what are you doing with the results?

Those are the three SEC teams that would certainly make the playoff as the conference champ. Along with the SEC winner, the ACC, B1G, and Big 12-ish champs are locks because it seems those three teams are locks to win those conferences. I like Wisconsin, but CFB is a QB-driven sport, and you can’t win it all if you don’t have a playmaker at the position. The rest of the riff raff needs chaos at the top to have a shot.

My ballot same as yours Senator, except without Penn State. My list is meant to show teams realistically in the playoff picture only. Of course We could win out and get in the playoff (as could Penn State). I can’t see that happening based on recent performance.
