    Thinking there’s a reason that Kirby didn’t try harder to get Bobo back in Athens. If the Gamecocks are going back under center, that would be seem to be a little less progressive than what he was doing in his later years under Richt. Kirby appears to be ready to move more in the direction of what’s new in offense.

      You may be happy, but the last really good offense UGA had was under Bobo, so I am a little worried.

        I didn’t indicate that I was happy or unhappy about it, merely making an observation. In fact, I was hoping for years that Bobo would get canned in Colorado so he could come back and run things for Kirby’s offense, but seeing that he’s apparently looking to take a step backwards in terms of philosophy in Columbia while Kirby appears to at least be considering a move into the future of offense in Athens, perhaps I was wrong.

        And JC is right, the 2017 Georgia offense wasn’t bad at all. 2018 wasn’t too bad, either.

        Agreed. Unless this is Ray Tanner’s keep-me-hired strategy, I have no idea what Bobo would be thinking otherwise.

        Unfortunately no coach at any level ultimately leaves Columbia in better standing than when they arrived.

        If Boom gets fired, it’ll be because the offense didn’t perform. That’s been his major problem so far. That isn’t a situation where the OC gets promoted; that’s a situation where his next job is as a QB coach somewhere.

      I’m right there with you. I know that I saw when Bobo was hired by uSC but just now when I read the title of this post by the Senator, I did a double take. And for a second I thought I had legitimately misread the title. It just feels weird.

      I hope he has success as their OC. Well, I hope he’s successful against everyone except for the Dawgs. I really thought he was going to do good things over at CSU and hated to hear that he started having serious health issues. But I’m glad to know he’s doing much better and is back to coaching. He really is a DGD even though he’s a Cock these days. Maybe he’s just another agent for the Dawgs. Bobo and Boom could be a dynamic duo acting as undercover agents for the good guys. I hope they go on a run over the next 10 years of beating the Portal Master more times than not but not quite enough to get the PM canned. I’m thinking that’s a record of 5-5 against them. Anything more than that, the PM job would have to be in serious trouble.

        I don’t think he’s going to do much at chickenland. He will try and run the same offense he ran at Georgia with much less talent at the skill positions. I think Muschamp hired him as his “keep my job” hire. Tanner makes McGarity look like a shrewd genius but he was feeling all sorts of heat over Muschamp. Muschamp did a wholesale staff change trying to look like he knew what the problem was and was addressing it. Bobo got a 2 year contract and unless he and Muschamp can turn things around in a big way, I think both will be on the street in two years.

    Obligatory…sorry if you’ve seen this before…

    The difference among Bobo, Kirby, and Boom can be described as follows:

    Bobo will agree to fight outside Allen’s Hamburgers;

    Kirby is too snooty for a place like Allen’s; he will only agree to fight outside a classy establishment like Five Guys;

    Boom will agree to fight five guys outside Allen’s Hamburgers.

    My only comment is USC jr gets up to play two opponents Clem and son and the Dawgs. This is history. Be wary my Dawg fellows. Our mouths wrote checks our asses didn’t cash last fall.
