Well, now.
Georgia gets a win from the NCAA? Alert the media!
I hope that doesn’t use up a quota, or something.

UPDATE: This is what I call “being on the mother”.

UPDATE #2: This is spot on.
***************************************************************************
UPDATE #3: You know what this means, don’t you?
Boys and girls, the media’s got itself a quarterback controversy!
Look on the bright side — at least it’ll take their minds off Florida closing the gap.

UPDATE #4: And right on cue, like he was shot out of a gun…
Well that’s cool.

You know it. The most Georgia thing ever

G•d, yes. Please, no CFP titles that forever carry the asterisk of irrelevance/infamy/“yeah, but”.

Yep, I suspect UGA will be the only dog to die from Covid to top it all off.

I really am trying not to be that guy, but the Georgia Death Star becoming fully operational at the exact moment a pandemic looks more and more likely to shut down the football season and not allow the team to ever play together is … just the most Georgia thing ever.
We are going to be so damn good, y’all, if we get to play this season.

We’ll be just as good in 2021. However that won’t stop the media from laying out how UGA was hurt the most from a lost 2020 season.

Is there a clear policy in place for how scholarships are dealt with in the event of NO football? They must just carry over as if there was no season.
LikeLike
Oh my do I doubt there is. You have to go back to WWI and the last great flu pandemic to find a year without a UGA season.

HS football is going to be hit in a big way too. The NFL’s being way too optimistic about a season (particularly with fans in seats).

(and I have to believe these extreme circumstances greased the skids to get this waiver)

My thought too.
NCAA committee – well we aren’t playing this year so we might as well approve all transfers for immediate play.

That means Cade Mays may not play a game in creamsicle and white.

All the UT fans in my area of east tennessee are upset that Daniels got approved in little over 1 month and there has been any decision on Cade Mays.

Just tell them this is a down payment of karma for all the UGA knees that have been blown out on that cow pasture of theirs.

Seems like there is something different about these two situations, but I can’t quite put my finger on it

There are plenty of players, especially on defense, who will move on after this season. Newman is also very likely to move on without ever playing a snap here if there’s no 2020 season. I agree that 2021 is going to be a good football team, but I’m not sure if they’ll be better than 2020 could be. Guess we’ll see, one way or the other.

Players will move on, but a lot of good players won’t, and new players are coming in. Guys like Ringo are likely to be freaks but would have to knock off some seriously amazing and more experienced talent ahead of them to get more than a handful of minutes in 2020 anyway.
I’m not sure there is another coach in the country except Saban that is better equipped to manage a roster through ANY scenario than Kirby. Other teams will be hurt just as much if not more. Clemson will almost certainly lose Lawrence.

I feel bad for the season ticket holders for the last 40 years.
Either the season will be cancelled or the games will be played with no fans for what looks like one of the most promising rosters in awhile.
All that money and 40 years of waiting and they will have to watch the games like every other schlub on television.

Lol. I’m getting a good chuckle now. Just looked at the updates. Man they are desperate. My initial impression was this is good because that means JT can get real time this year be ready for next year. Then I was also thinking looks like Kirby learned a lot. Then I thought, well maybe Kirby learned a lot, I hope so.
I never crossed my mind that there was a quarterback controversy.
Then I spiraled into the depths of the abyss of depression because it’s not even a matter.
Can we just play one game this year.? It can be conveniently scheduled at Halloween. It would be the single most watched game maybe ever. The powers can tap into all that TV viewership. CBS can do like a 6 hour pre game.

And that’s how I finally came to the realization of which game means the most. If the Dawgs play one game only I want it to be against those deluded, arrogant, washed up gaytards and their greasy, smarmy, never-has-been Portal Master. Crush their souls.
Fuck those motherfuckers!

Somehow I instinctively knew that Barnhart would have the best take of the bunch. He keeps doing Grady proud. 🙄
Seriously, with Schlabach proven 100% right about his cheating Arizona coach story that originally got him shadow-suspended, you’d think ESPN would let him out of the dog house by now.

Not only does this give us critical depth for this year, it also keeps the QB succession plan in place (Newman in 20, Daniels in 21, and Vandagriff in 22+). I know the best man needs to play, but QB is the one position where setting up succession deserves consideration as well.
