This is what I call a ringing endorsement.
Dan Mullen, Florida: Mullen is an offensive genius. He has proved that for a decade-and-a-half in the SEC as a coach and coordinator. His quarterback, Kyle Trask, had the best season from a Florida signal caller since 2009 (the last time a guy named Tim Tebow was on the field) … and did it on the fly after Feleipe Franks went down against Kentucky in September 2019. That despite never having been a first-team quarterback in any offseason in college or high school football. Simply put, Trask + three star wide receivers + an All-America tight end = headaches for the SEC. Mullen has already turned Florida around. Back-to-back New Year’s Six bowl games prove that. The offensive fireworks that he will produce in 2020, combined with the stability that defensive coordinator Todd Grantham provides, will vault Florida into the CFP. If that happens, Mullen will win this honor in a runaway.
I’ll try to believe Dan Mullen is an offensive genius if/when he cracks 20 points against a Kirby Smart defense.
Damn, Barrett, just get a room already so you and assmunch can be alone. That was disgusting.

No kidding, SD. Reads as if Sallee is lobbying for a reach around.

Besides years when he had Tim Tebow or Dak Prescott, please tell me when Dan Mullen has been a genius.

Or beaten a team he wasn’t supposed to, especially as HC at UF. And the whole new years 6 thing is kind of diminished when the CFP took the top 4 teams away.

I hope Grantham never leaves Gainesville. He’s our secret weapon. Just take a knee on first and second down then bomb deep… or run a draw. Either will work.

I’m not saying it’s gonna happen repeatedly but there’s a good chance that monken has got some magic that’s just sitting in the booth on the table when he knows a 3rd D blitz is coming. Just one play, It’ll be like when mark richt pulled out the full back trap out of nowhere

The stability of Todd Grantham?” Todd Grantham is many things. Stable is not one of them.

They are us and we are them and the ones who do not know that are about to learn an awful lot about where these two programs stand. The only thing that can beat UGA when they play UF this year is Covid-19 and/or a rash of injuries.

Smart is our Spurrier – embarrassed as a player and now circles a singular game each year. Add to the fact he doesn’t like The Portal Master and it’s just icing on the cake.

The old ball sack isn’t close to Kirby Smart as a human being, CKS will continue to use FU as a swizzle stick for comode cleaning purposes….#FTMF

I’ve never understood the rush to label any football a “so and so-genius.” These guys aren’t splitting atoms or curing cancer.

Football “coach.”
I do not ascribe sentience to the actual football itself.

Never took it that you were talking about the football. Since it appeared that the word you were starting to type started with and “a” and it was about Dan Mullen, I just assumed you started to type asshole since it is a synonym for Mullen (or almost any gator for that matter)

If Mullen is such an Offensive Genius, why does he get a pass on letting Franks continue to play while making the best QB since Teblows ride the pine? Or is it one of those Fabris things to make it interesting for those other horrible coaches in the SEC so they can keep up?

I’ve wondered why Mullen couldn’t work his quarterback voodoo on Franks, that is, if Mullen really is a genius. I don’t know if he was a 5*, but Franks was highly regarded. The swamp was giddy when he committed. It’s fair to give Trask a little credit for rising to the occasion, but I’ll be more impressed if he can do it this year after DCs have a nice helping of film on him.

Franks was a 4 star, #9 Pro style QB. So he was considered to have talent. But you are right Mullen should have been able to make him at least serviceable.
Trask did step up but Franks was sub-par for a SEC QB and Trask is an eventual Heisman trophy winner (per uf fans), why wasn’t Mullen able to see that and sit Franks and play Trask. Can he not evaluate talent?
