Thrown under the Gus Bus

Oy.

Last Saturday in Athens gets easier to understand.

Typical Gus. Our Auburn win will dawggrade itself over the course of the season. I suspect Auburn finishes under .500.

And the Saturday before, for that matter. I said after the Arky game that they were going to surprise someone this year. Didn’t take long…

  4. Wow. Gus has never come across as the brightest bulb, but this gaffe takes the cake. I can’t imagine how frosty the offensive strategy session in Greater Opelika was this morning.

I bet Morris is already telling his wife to sign up the moving company for his next stop.

Awkward coaches meeting room at the Harvard of Greater Opelika this morning.

      • This is gotdamm hilarious. 1,000 cocktails to you, sir.

I guess the annual meeting isn’t being held on a tarmac due to COVID concerns. Safety first, I always say.

I don’t think it’s really a gaffe. I honestly think that Gus is a monumental asshole.

      • If it was intentional, it’s one of the greatest “owns” of all time, directed from one Auburn coach to another. If it wasn’t, it was stupidity distilled to its essence, like an opium poppy to heroin. Either way, it’s glorious. “Hook it to my veins.”

Gus Malzahn has made so much money off of Cam Newton and two extremely unlikely fluke plays. I respect the hustle.

But what does this say about AU? Don’t think many thought they were playing so well last Saturday. LOL.

Man, that’s just rude. I was trying to decide who I disliked more, Saban or Kiffin. Malzahn supersedes both of those jerks. What an asshole.

  8. That truly works on many levels, with many different ingredients, slow-cooked to perfection. It’s like a béchamel sauce of SEC narratives. It pairs well with just about anything.

  9. Seriously, has any coach ever enjoyed working with Gus?

I hope a Bammer booster can hire a plane banner to fly over the AU sandpit with: “Arky not well coached last year and neither is AU”

  12. Here’s the direct quote from 247:

“Well, what stands out to me is they’re playing extremely hard. When you got a team that’s playing extremely hard, I believe that’s coaching, so hat’s off to those guys. They’re off to a very good start. Like I said, Sam is a football coach, and he’s got those guys playing extremely hard.”

Is that Gus’s way of saying he made hires this off season to collect the buy out from au?
