No need to press

In case you were wondering…

Yes, Stetson Bennett is getting good protection this season.  All the more reason he needs to trust Monken and his o-line more.

Or defenses are content to sit back and make him beat them.

  2. he was standing there uncomfortably long in the second half.

I am really thinking he hit a paralysis by analysis moment in that game.

I’m inclined to think he was waiting for the OL to take a knee and clear the passing lanes.

    • Chuck, I think you may be onto something there. Most QBs are trained to think downfield, intermediate, and then short unless the play is specifically designed with an objective in mind like run the post to run the safety off while another receiver goes into the vacated area with a square-in to get the 1st down. Against a Saban (or Smart) defense, the pre-snap read can be a false flag to get the ball to the area where the defense wants it to go. For instance, on the ball that should have been picked at the goal line, that had to be a pre-snap read because he threw into virtual triple coverage. I’m sure someone else had to be open.

      • Well think about it… hes getting a lot more coaching and a lot more attention… so he just hit his sophomore slump mid season. Changing his natural gifts to try and perform at a higher level

Makes me think we are going to sack Trask a lot in 2 weeks.

Siskey, I believe you are correct. I think Kirby has a special surprise or five for Trask.

You see the news on LSU? I figure you’ll cover it tomorrow. Have a good evening.

Impressive that Trask has done so well under so much pressure.
