Jim Harbaugh believes his work is being unfairly judged.
I sure would love to be in the meeting when Harbaugh’s agent argues for a contract extension and raise because the process is kicking some righteous ass.

I thought this was an interesting exchange w Harbaugh. I had asked if he can detect what’s missing with the team — confidence? Energy? His comment about “disdain for the process” by people outside the program intrigued me ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ pic.twitter.com/gyFViv6YNE

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

My Boss: “I need to see your data which is overdue. I expect employees who are results oriented. Our stakeholders expect this as well.”
Me: “I detect some disdain. The report, by the way, is not ready. But I am processing it. We cool?”

Any process worth a damn eventually produces good results. Even Nick Saban’s Process is only as good as the results over time. Big Jim has had quite a while to deliver results and it’s just not happening.

Saban’s process had a National Championship in Year 3.
Harbaugh hasn’t beaten OSU in twice that time.

It’s certainly fair at some point to ask Coach Harbaugh exactly what “process” he’s carrying out and what, if anything, he expects it to produce.

I think by now most Michigan fans are hoping the Lions are dumb enough to offer Screech’s cousin a contract.

I work with a guy who’s parents are minority owners of the Lions. They know the Fords personally, and he said they are in love with Harbaugh.

That sounds very Lions to me

Was really disappointed not to see them put it to State Pen on Saturday and keep them winless…

Well, at this point “the process” is all he has. He sure doesn’t have results to brag about.

Harbaugh is the victim of his own hubris. He came in with his attitude of superiority and has yet to deliver. As we say in Texas, his time at Michigan has been all hat and no cattle. His record against OSU and top ten teams makes Richt’s record against Florida look stellar. As far as results oriented vs process oriented?? We have a scoreboard that tallies the results on the field, not judges on the sidelines giving style points for a well executed process.

I’m with Harbaugh. I can’t believe other football coaches are so “results-oriented.” It’s almost as though they keep their jobs by winning, not losing. Clearly UM has a different process.

Jim’s too pure for college football. It’s beneath him.
Funny though, he’s not too pure to accept the $150k/week salary.

You know, if you hold that number up to the light and squint just right, it looks like a lot of money.
I sometimes have a crisis of capitalism if I actually take time to think about such things, like the middle school coach who has to teach other people’s lame ass kids as well won’t make that in 3 years.
Or, since it’s AD day, knuckling under the NCAA and throwing a player under the bus for making a grand on the side then having the stones to actually pay a mediocre coach 150k/week ’cause…well, he’s worth it? Or if you don’t someone else will?
It’s mind-boggling.

That number held down in the dim light of a porta-john wide eyed looks like a lot to me, pal. I can’t wrap my head around it especially considering the hypocrisy of denying young folks the ability to make peanuts through otherwise legal means.
This cold, cutting wind is a stark reminder of what some people deal with to earn much less. I don’t want to think about it as it brings up feeeeeelings that run counter to my conservative philosophy. You’re not alone in respect to questioning the system.

He’d fit right in on North Ave.

Woof. No thanks. He’d be a massive upgrade over that clown Collins. People forget that Harbaugh can actually coach given how bad he’s screwed up the Michigan thing.

I wonder if he feels the same way about his paycheck.
“The money wasn’t deposited in my account.”
“Well don’t get hung up on the results. You see, there’s a process…”

I dont follow Michigan at all, so I dont know. What is the problem up there? Does Jim always have a weakness in his staff? The guy has never shown to be bad at football, he has a dream job, no reason really to field a poor team.

Like many coaches, he’s an anachronism. He works hard and is nice enough, but he doesn’t kiss butt and says some wacky stuff.
If you win big, nobody cares. Think Dabo.

I’ll give this to the B1G — they had two seemingly surefire alums-as-new-head coaches who are failing miserably between Frost and Harbaugh. (Still glad Frost didn’t go to UF — recruiting there vs NE is a bit different.)

unfair work judgement? wasn’t he 7-9 mill per year? He should be arrested on the spot for breaking & entering.

I personally hope UM keeps him. He is what they deserve. Their fans, and the sports media, still think they are relevant even after the curb stomping OSU has put on them forever. It’s like GT fans thinking they are still a top Power 5 team but can’t sale out their stadium.
