I can live with this.

Bill Connelly’s take ($$) on what the national title contenders have to solve to make it to the top includes this thought about Stetson Bennett:

I feel I should doubt Bennett one more time, just for old times’ sake. I’ve done it plenty. But when you play 10 perfect minutes to finish the national title game and finish the year third in Total QBR, you earn the benefit of the doubt.

That’s it.  He’s not going to win a Heisman.  He’s not going to be a first round draft pick.  But he’s good enough to take this Georgia team where we all want it to go.  Again.  I’m good with that.

  2. SBIV doesn’t have to be Bryce Young. Play within yourself and avoid the turnovers.

    • This is the biggest challenge…Stetson’s mental health. He doesn’t need to carry the team, just be a calm, confident leader. Make the plays given to him, force nothing. Help the others stay focused and tune out the noise. He needs to prove nothing…let the record speak for itself. If a little chip on his shoulder helps, fine. But don’t force anything to prove he’s better than what others are saying. He has a ring, help the new guys get theirs.

This^^^^…UGA football O.C.’s playbook has shown time and again, taking what the defense gives you, he will scheme players into open areas on the field, SBIV time under center has got him to the point now, where scanning the field, seeing what the defense is attempting, going through those progressions he should easily find the right play call, find the right open receiver and have fun this year cause he should find nothing that will confuse him long term, he is the leader of this team and he should demand that leadership of hisself…GO DAWGS!

If he wins his next 13 starts he SHOULD win the Heisman.

Not that it really matters to me.

The 1st 12 are pretty doable. Its that 13th game that worries me.

It’ll worry me less if he improves where he needs to improve.

Last year he was good enough bc the D held Bama to 18. If (when?) the D regresses, we really don’t know if he’s good enough.

Dropped this in the previous post…

The other day I stumbled across this video from the Manning Passing Academy. Bryce looks like a disinterested college kid tossing the ball around, and Stet acts like a 40-year old coach who’s fed up with the young kid’s goofing off and not listening to instructions – and I’ll take that in my QB…

Georgia will NEVER win a National Championship with Stetson Bennett at quarterback!

I’ll admit I was firmly convinced of this right up until kelee ringo crossed the goal line.

At which point, my first thought was “damn we don’t have much time left to Georgia this game away”

Call it 41 years of ptsd

  7. Don’t be a cowboy, don’t try to hit a grand slams when a double will do.

Be Good Stetson, and we run the table until Decemt.

At least Connelly is giving SBIV some props. Stetson is so disrespected that last year he didn’t even win the Brian Burlsworth Award for best walk-on. Hell, Stetson should retire that award.

    • Frat Boy Douche Bag really should have retired it. Former walk-on, walk-on transfer, eventual starter, Heisman winner, #1 overall pick.

I do agree with you. SBIV should have won the award last year.

I just can’t wait to see how he does when we line up in an unprecedented 3-tightend set! lol He’s gonna have a blast throwing to those otherworldly TEs. My prediction? 3400+ yds 34 TDs 4 ints. %68 comp

Bennet has the luxury of being the only QB in history who returns for another season after a championship (won on his arm) to face bulletin board material in every article written about him. He may be even saltier this year than last.
