Still don’t get it.

Shot.

Chaser.

The Levis hype, she is something.  And I continue to be befuddled over it.

Perhaps the way the season played out has something to do with it:

4 game win streak. Beat a team with a pulse in a bowl.

Compare to Mr. Jones’ last sighting:

Hey, maybe he will be way better with his third coordinator in three years?

The fawning over UK is just for talking heads to have filler for their shows. Doering has UK beating us in Lexington this year. I mean, it’s not out of the realm of possibility but it’s also not a high probability pick either. The gap, she is too large!

Will Levis puts mayonnaise in his coffee. That’s almost as bad as putting ketchup on a hot dog.

    FTMFing blue pussy cats!
Called a timeout with 4 seconds to play to score a touchdown when your team is down 30-7. Coach for the blue pussy cats said he’s trying to get his players to play to the end of the game….
Then proceeds to loose the next two!!
    Stoopies, karma’s a bitch!!
    And, in Lexington this year…
    We won’t forget!!

I’ve got the feeling Kirby doesn’t concern himself with the moral victories of blue pussy cats. Go to Lexington, take care of business, on to the next one.

The Levis hype is baffling. He’s like everything else with UK football: pretty good. The hype, however, is off the rails. My UK friends regularly send me articles touting his first round potential, etc., etc. I don’t see it and I don’t get it.

Levis is more likely to get the Jamie Newman award than the Heisman.

It looks like I’m one of the few who was impressed by Levis last year. He showed athleticism and toughness against us and played a clean game (no mean feat against our D). He’s a good QB and with a better supporting cast – and a more open offense – might be a very good one. That said, I don’t know if he’s good enough to be even second team all SEC, much less a first round pick, but his floor seems pretty high.

He played a clean game because he never threw the ball more than 5 yards downfield. Good luck with that strategy against our D.

Yeah, it was all dinks and dunks. I get that, but that’s as much if not more on his supporting cast. Anyway, I’m not saying he’s great, just that he might be pretty good. We’ll find out soon enough.

I agree with all aspects of the thread. He was impressive athletically, as he showed mobility, and arguably, he made “good” decisions because getting rid of the ball quickly was probably the right decision. That said, it wasn’t very effective because we don’t miss many tackles, which is one of the fundamental underpinnings of dink and dunk.

The QB position in the NFL is so important and expensive that teams are willing to invest a lot of draft capital to the position in hopes of finding a capable starting QB because the combined value of the five year savings are enormous. Further, the future stability at the position is enormous for a franchise.

Finally, he won’t get drafted in round 1 if his 2022 production isn’t much higher than it is. The NFL will take a flyer on skills or guys with skills from smaller schools (Wentz, Love, Lance), but they rarely do so on guys from P5 schools in round 1. The P5 QBs that are drafted in round 1 almost always have impressive passing stats.

Levis has certain “Erstad-ian” qualities that analysts and commentators love.
