One thing

Yesterday was marked by sloppy play (maybe even disinterested at times), but it’s the kind of thing I expect the coaches to get worked out with the players.  That being said, this bugs me a little.

In the aftermath of Saturday’s victory, Georgia inside linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson — who was one of the team’s leading tacklers with 6 — chalked some of the Bulldogs’ issues up to needing better communication and improving their conditioning going forward.  [Emphasis added.]

It wasn’t a blisteringly hot day.  They were the home team, so no roster issues.  But Kent State exposed a conditioning matter?  Man, I hope I’m reading that wrong.

  2. They likely felt the aftermath of playing a full game and thought about conditioning. It was exhausting on D with how they extended the field so I’m sure they were gassed.

Wasn’t that the rallying cry after last year’s SECCG? Perhaps he’s trying to recapture some of that magic?

Kent State ran a lot of hurry up. Dawgs need to be ready for that come the Tennessee game.

It was the first time this season that any pressure was applied to the defense. It is disappointing he’s pointing to conditioning. You can’t simulate that sense of urgency. Nice he gave reason to the extra conditioning drills he and his teammates will get to enjoy. Nothing like bonus PT when you think your done to fix that problem.

I made the same comment to my friends during the game about the Dawgs, especially the defense, looking tired and out of shape. Hopefully, they get that worked out soon!
