- Year2’s review of South Carolina’s game against Southern Miss is worth a read, especially the last section.
- And CFN’s preview of Saturday’s game isn’t bad.
- It doesn’t concern football, but anything Michael Lewis writes about – in this case, the financial shenanigans that have driven Greece into virtual bankruptcy – is a must read.
- Tonight’s Auburn-Mississippi State game should be as far removed from 3-2 as imaginable.

Best part about the SC/USM recap: “(South Carolina’s Oline) was fine in pass blocking the USM front four, but it had issues with picking up blitzes”

Ah, Rocky Top. It’s like God knew I’d be sad today about AJ Green and decided, “you know what? I’m going to give them an article about Tennessee’s players not understanding how to adequately cleanse themselves in the shower, complete with Coach Dooley having to teach a seminar on the subject”.
Thank you, Tennessee.

Meanwhile, Phisohex having previously been taken off the over-the-counter market in the U.S., but still available OTC in Canada, learns of Derek’s shower discipline problem and ships several complimentary crates to to Derek in Knoxville with the message, “Get rid of the jock itch, stat!”
Derek upon receiving the complimentary crates will have his staph compliance officer report a secondary violation to The NCAA.

Doesn’t hurt it would be handy for the annoying trips to county lock up most Vols deal with on a regular basis.

As delightful as the UT soap story is, I’m going in a different direction:
Thanks for that link to the Joe Montana interview. He’s my second favorite NFL player of all time (Ronnie Lott is my first), and it is really nice to get a little insider info on the real story there.

That State of Florida as Afghanistan bit was a real classic, that’s up there with the poetry of premature trash talk, and the original lexicon post comments on here as the greatest posts in the relatively short but storied history of the dawgosphere. David Hale had some good ones too.

The three best things I am hearing about the Carlina game, looked soft up the middle on run defense, soft up the middle in coverage and their OL did ok against a 4 man rush but didn’t handle the blitz well. Sounds like a perfect recipe for us to take advantage of. The OL has to be what they were at the end of last season and take over the team for the rest of the year. If we can run the ball the way we should be behind a veteran line everything else on this team falls into place.
