Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game PSA

If you’re interested, here’s the official word on ordering tickets for the season opener against Boise State.

“This is the type of game that excites me, it will excite our players and I know it will excite our fans,” said Georgia coach Mark Richt.

I guess you know Richt’s key word for the game now.

He’s all in, that is for sure. Win and suddenly we’re optimistic. Play like we did through much of 2010 and get embarrassed – then we’ll all be jumping off the ship like it is the sinking titanic…

Sure, I hope you guys lose to AU (and maybe FU). However, by all means, I hope you have the 3rd string in by the 3rd quarter.

I’d like to avoid Boise – Teh Hipe! next year.

I was really excited about this game when it was announced, although I feel our defense is very vulnerable to the offensive scheme BSU plays. It looked like the “national game of the week” for opening weekend and was a chance for our players to regain a position on the big stage. Then I discovered that LSU and Oregon are playing that day in Texas Stadium. Clearly we are not the spotlight game on that day. I hope we move the game to Thursday night to become the feature game and take the extra two days rest for SC.

Thursday would be sweet, but you can be that it will be in prime time on ESPN or ABC on Saturday. That’s simply part of the deal for Chick-fil-a

But it makes zero marketing/financial sense to pit those two games against one another as they do during the regular season If one is on ESPN at 7:45 PM, and the other on ABC at 8:00 PM, someone should be fired. I haven’t seen the entire opening weekend schedule, but those two are headliners based on the normal opening weekend schedule.
