SEC, Missouri grows bored with your petty questioning.

The short answer to this stupid question

“Do you think that the Missouri family has a little bit of a chip on their shoulders because they’ve been told over and over that you’ve been playing JV football and now you’re going to the big league.”

… would be “yeah”, but allow Gary Pinkel to retort.

“I’ve got a place down in Florida and go down there sometimes,” Pinkel said. “People act like we’ve been playing a bunch of high school teams. We’ve played in a pretty good league.”

And T.J. Moe sounds like he’s heard enough about the new neighborhood to leave a lasting impression.

“They say the girls are prettier,” Moe said, “the air’s fresher and the toilet paper is thicker.”

If nothing else, that sounds like a man who’s ready for the sights at Toomer’s Corner.

Actually, its hard to blame them. Some of this stuff has been really overboard. The Dawgs and Gators better beware that first game on the road.

Its not like Mizzou has been playing in the Sunbelt. They have spent most of the past 15 years or so playing Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska…three of the top 8 programs of all time. Hardly jv league stuff.

True, but they haven’t had a lot of success against those teams over the years, aside from down years for those programs. This year they have to play Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama, who are all in good shape, plus a Florida team who may be improved. At the very least their defense will make them a tough out for most teams. There’s also a trap game with Vandy the week before Bama, though it’s at home and may not be as tough as it could be. I think they’ll probably get through the conference slate at 4-4, but 3-5 wouldn’t shock me.

Also, this “ninth-best rushing in the country” stat Moe quoted, that will be over; they’ll be lucky to pull off ninth-best rushing in the SEC alone this year. I agree with Biggus….they’ll be good enough to beat the bottom-feeders but they are no threat to the top dawgs.

  5. getting super pumped up to play an SEC school has worked out real well for Colorado,UCF and Michigan State, Wake up people we’re walking into a buzz saw missing our entire secondary and 3 new lineman who will have gotten 1 practice game with Buffalo. We’re in deep do-do we just don’t seem to get it yet. Columbia II will be rockin and their players will be up like it’s New Years Day. You heard it here first, we’ll have to score at least 30 to win.
