Line up and dig in.
- The long reach of Nevin Shapiro. (It’s not just football, either.)
- Jason Kirk notes that Alabama is far from the only school grayshirting recruits this year. (In fact, this move by Tennessee to grayshirt a questionable prospect to get his friend to switch from Vanderbilt (!) seems more obnoxious.)
- Matt Hinton on the spread continuing to spread.
- And Vic Koenning on what that means for college defensive coordinators.
- If Spurrier is hanging around in hopes of putting the final polish on his legacy, is it wrong for me to hope that Georgia makes him stay in Columbia longer than he’d like by denying him that? (That was a rhetorical question, if you were wondering.)
- This probably doesn’t help his chances.
- When a school leaves a conference, you can count on the lawyers showing up.
- Stanley Williams needs to learn the First Rule of Holes.
to be fair, i dont think the gamecocks really need a defensive line coach this year. all they probably do is tell clowney to “go get that ball.”

The ACC may have stepped on its collective d!ck with the adoption of the $52 Million exit fee. When you litigate against a school, that’s one thing. When you litigate against a state government, that’s quite another thing entirely. The ACC won’t be able to out-muscle the State of Maryland. The first test will be the motion re: jurisdiction and venue in the North Carolina courts which should be granted. The ACC would be well advised to try to work out a deal as the conference may end up with the entire exit fee being thrown out, in which case some other schools just might bolt, too.

I, for one, am really enjoying this brave new world where Tennessee has to tap dance on the whim of a high school student in order to lure recruits away from Vanderbilt University.

The Greenville SC paper had an article where Spurrier talked about staying around until he had 100 wins at SC.
