Hump day nourishment…
- Vanderbilt cuts Chris Boyd loose. I can think of places that wouldn’t.
- Why did it take so long for prosecutors to announce that texts implicating Austyn Carta-Samuels were incorrect? That’s inexcusable.
- The NCAA files its motion to dismiss in the O’Bannon case. Good luck with that, fellas.
- Far be it from me to tell Butch Jones his business, but changing quarterbacks the week you’re facing the number three defense in the country sounds like a dicey proposition.
- In the meantime, the Gators are playing the “only Florida can beat Florida” game. Whatever.
- Aaron Murray is about to become only the second SEC quarterback with 100 TD throws. “When you think about it, Murray has been here for like five or six years,” Scott-Wesley said. “So you would think he would have more. Just kidding. If I can catch No. 100 or No. 105, I’ll be honored.”
- If you’re interested, here’s the E:60 segment on A.J. Green.
- Dominique Easley does some hate ranking.
- Mack Brown does some proactive apologizing. (You know I’m a sucker for gallows humor.)
- Can’t keep up with conference realignment? Don’t worry, you’re not alone.
- Non-football, but this is what can happen when you hate the effing Eagles, man.
You mean Franklin didn’t let the players vote on whether to keep Boyd on the team?

When Vandy started Carta-Samuels against Da Chickens, you kinda figured the story about his moving the victim were bullshit…in spite of what you might think, I don’t think he plays for Vandy if there are any doubts.
It’s just real nice of the writer who wrote the piece I commented on at the time…the one that named (erroneously) the starting QB as involved in the rape case, albeit in a vague kind of way…is soooo sorry he wrote bullshit.
It would have been a helluva lot nicer if the writer had just not said anything he did know to be true…and blaming the justice system for his error is bullshit of the highest order.
If you can’t prove it with two sources…don’t write it, dipshit.

I must be missing something here. According to the linked article it wasn’t that the reporter or prosecutor misconstrued the text, rather that Boyd wrongfully identified Carta-Samuels as one of the people that helped him move the unconscious girl.
” Boyd wrongly identified student Austyn Carta-Samuels as someone who participated in helping move the victim. …”
I get that moving the girl doesn’t necessarily constitute a crime but am I supposed to believe that Boyd doesn’t know what his QB looks like? He must have just imagined he was there.

Florida…bite my ass. There’s “stupid” and there’s “Gator Stupid”. After any loss, any team can look back and find things that went wrong. When you look at the scoreboard and the other team has more points than you it means they beat your dumb asses.

Probably. You know he was not a team player, had a low metaphysics IQ but was very good with nicknames. Friedrich often referred to Kant as a “moral fanatic”, Plato as “boring”, Mill as a “blockhead”, and of Spinoza he said: “How much of personal timidity and vulnerability does this masquerade of a sickly recluse betray?”

Why do the Florida Gators not understand that a turnover requires the participation of the defense? If they go out there and force 6 turnovers from Tennessee on Saturday, I promise you they’re going to be claiming they dominated the Vols and not that Tennessee beat itself.
Georgia’s defense owned you last year, Florida, and that’s why you kept coughing up footballs. Same with Miami a few weeks ago. In case you haven’t noticed, your offense is far from unstoppable even when you’re not turning over the ball so instead of telling me “only Florida can beat Florida”, how about telling me how you plan to beat LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida State?

If they “beat themselves” in Jacksonville again this year, I’m not going to complain. Especially after the two decades where it was always Georgia on the wrong side of the cocktail party turnover margin.

I watched part of Miss America because Miss Georgia, a Lee County girl, Carly Mathis, made the top ten. Carly is a UGA grad and wants to use her scholarship money to attend law school at UGA. I don’t know how she could plead a case with her looks and I have an idea that Nashville will be calling her soon. The Senator doesn’t want to face her in court, nobody will know he’s there.
