    I hope we’re able to keep the great offense up with CBS. For the grief we’ve given Bobo over the years, he was pretty rock solid from 2011 to last year. I’m more worried at this point about who will play center given how poor we looked when Andrews was out vs. UF than the QB.

      With all due respect to Andrews, and I liked the guy’s ability and leadership a lot, the difference in impact of an in-game transition and one where you have 8+ months to prepare is worlds apart. With 80% of the OL starters back, I expect the job will be handled well. CBS will be fun to watch as we see the world from a different set of eyes. He did well at a very high level for many years, I think we will be pleased in another approach, especially one which will be joined to Mark Richt’s damaged hip for a while. One change I anticipate is more/better use of the tight end this season, and we have two good’uns to utilize.

        Mac, absolutely agree with you. I’m not worried about CBS. I just hope we’re good in the middle. Between Jones and Andrews, we’ve been very fortunate at the center position the last 7-8 years.

    As much as Bobo could drive me crazy sometimes, I have to agree. It’s very hard to argue with his results for the past 5 or so years.

    Yea, I would bet 5 bucks our offensive production is off significantly from 2014. Hope I am wrong, but there will be a lot of pressure on the D. Time for CJP to earn his money.

        he hasn’t lived up to the hype yet, I am not ready to say CBS is as good or better than CMB until I see the results from this year, by recent comments MM gave about how quick he goes over plays I am not confident this will be as smooth a transition as you seem to think

          I agree it’s too early to judge. My point is, CMB was relatively easy to replace with a guy who has better credentials. And if we keep recruiting like we have been, CBS would be easy to replace if he doesn’t work out. The program is really attractive right now. There’s no other way to explain the CJP and CBS hires.

    Bobo and Richt have laid the foundation for Schotty to take what is there and move things forward. We have awesome talent on O…..we will not drop off in production, and the D will be lights out. Good things to come this fall…..

    The Bobo conundrum was that when we absolutely needed to score, you could be pretty certain he would call the worst play possible. Never rode the hot man, never kept pressing where something would work, all in the name of “balance.” He also somehow would be unpredictable when it didn’t really matter, but utterly predictable when it did. (See Stafford Era offensive game plan of “Screen Pass, Prayer Long Shot, Shotgun Draw, Punt in big games). Games like UT 07, Bama 08, USCe 11, and UF 14 all come to mind immediately of games where despite whatever else was going on, the offense came out flat and the game was over before the first quarter.
