Too fiery for you? After all the complaints for years about Mark Richt not having any fire? Because the man can coach a defense, and since we’re not asking him to be a head coach, I don’t see what the problem would be… other than the fact that he’s prone to showing emotion and passion on the sidelines. Ya know, like people whined and complained that Richt didn’t do for 15 years or so….

I never complained about Richt’s “lack of fire.” If that’s “fire,” you can have it. That “fire” helped his dumb ass out in Florida (and Auburn, for that matter) didn’t it? Any bonehead can yell and scream and make an ass of themselves.

That kind of comment underlines your ignorance of Muschamp’s abilities as a DC. The dude can coach defense and I’ve yet to hear one negative word from fellow coaches or former players about him as a person.

So what happened to Auburn this season? Hell, half their secondary were Georgia’s “dream team” rejects.

Sorry in advance for such a lengthy comment – you can blame CWM, who I am amped is not coming to coach at Georgia, which he spit on, although I imagine old boy spits on a lot of things every time he opens his frothy mouth.

Remember when Buddy Ryan took a poke at Gilbride on the sideline, or Woody Hayes? Now that’s nutting up. WM can coach D, I got more of an issue with some comments he made whilst at the go Gatah.

I think ADGM’s issue is that Pruitt shakes up the cart too much and isn’t afraid to speak his mind on what needs to change. GM doesn’t like that and feels he is a pot stirrer.

FWIW and take this with a grain of salt but my cousin has a friend who is/was a support staffer for Pruitt on defense and allegedly there was an altercation/heated argument at Richt’s house between Pruitt and some of the offensive staff that had some pushing and shoving. After that incident he claims Pruitt told his guys that he didn’t know what was going to happen but if he and his guys were let go they would have a job with him so not to worry. This was back before Richt was let go. I was told this the day of the Georgia Southern game regarding the time when the rumors were swirling that Pruitt was going to be let go. It is hearsay obviously so take from that what you will. I don’t have any reason not to believe my cousin but I have no idea how true it is either.

THANK you. I’ll take it with the appropriate-sized grain of salt, but at least that explains it. But if it happened in Richt’s kitchen, and Richt forgave him, and Pruitt was appropriately contrite (and the Senator alluded in a post a few days ago that he’d apologized), shit, move on for the good of the team. “Heat of the moment” and all that.

You know, Dolly, I’m not taking up for either Pruitt or McGarity here, but you seem to think that Pruitt should be kept on no matter what he did and that McGarity must be making a mountain out of a molehill. You’ve already acknowledged you have no idea what the story is, nor do I. How can you justify taking sides like your comment above when you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about? If it’s the IPF thing, that’s on McGarity. If it’s about something that happened at Richt’s house, and Richt kept him afterward, then I don’t know why anybody else would use it as a reason not to keep him. If he’s chasing tail, well, if it’s student tail, yes, boot his ass. If it’s not student tail, that’d be between him and Mrs. Pruitt. If it’s something else, I’d have to hear what the something else was before I gave an opinion. All I know is that he’s vastly improved our defense, we need some type of stability in the worst way possible now more than ever, and those are the criteria I use to judge Pruitt.

                  Like

                • Richt forgives a lot. But if the story about Pruitt’d conduct is true, I don’t blame anyone who doesn’t want him to be part of the next staff. It’s unacceptable behavior in any profession, the kind that would keeprobably you from getting employed anywhere in most professions.

NOT SAYING IT HAPPENED, but until someone says otherwise it remains a possibility that Pruitt has run afoul of things the same way he did in Tallahassee, i.e., he apparently had a reputation there for skirt-chasing. It could have been a factor here too. No quicker way to get yourself in job trouble than chasing the wrong skirts.

When a guy is single, as Pruitt was in Tallahassee, going out with women is not only OK but expected. So he dated a gal from the FSU athletics department. So what? Have you ever gone out with someone who worked at the same company you did? Back when I was still single I sure did. It appears that Jeremy decided to marry someone else and according to the same link you attached SHE (the bride) wanted to leave Tallahassee and he took another job for HER. Your post above is speculation of the rankest sort and you should be ashamed for engaging in slander such as this. Shame on you!!

Piss on ADGM, we need a winner here. Why punish a man when he strives for excellence and the facilities that’s need to win? There needs to be a coach on the team that the players respect and want to play for.

    • Well, I was talking to a passionate, somewhat clued-in Bama fan last night, and he’s convinced Kiffie is gone from that staff at end of season. That led to this terrible thought: “Maybe he doesn’t get along with Nick, but what if he’s become good buddies with Kirby? And what if Kirby offers him…” but I just couldn’t and can’t even quite finish that thought.

Being at Saban’s Bama will help coaches look good, but, yeah, Kiffykins seems to have done a decent job there. I thought he was no hat and no cattle before, but maybe he does have some coaching ability. He still seems like a d-bag, though.

I thought Kirby and Muschamp were best buds in college and still today. Has the clown at BM said no to him coming here?

I haven’t heard him ruled out, but FWIW, Eason’s QB coach did say that Helton doesn’t have the QB under center enough for Eason’s liking. Not sure on the wisdom of picking an OC based on its impact on a single recruit, but we are in bad shape at the QB position. If we’re forced to go with Lambert another year, the ceiling lowers quite a bit for us in ’16.

If we have to go with Lambert next year, I’m more worried about the height of the floor than the ceiling.

Why would ceiling be lower next year, nine wins not good enough this year certainly would not be next year. Need to go 11-1 or will be disappointing.

This morning, Auburn is saying there’s no change in Coach Boom’s status. And South Carolina hasn’t said anything about their job yet. It certainly would appear that Muschamp’s the leading candidate, but who knows? I tend to think he might be able to do a good job up there. South Carolina’s best teams under Spurrier relied heavily on a crushing defense and getting just enough offense. I think Muschamp can turn something like that in up there.
