One thing about being a consistently snarky asshole here is that I tend to bring the sarcasm out in my readers. So I must say I was pleased to get an email a few minutes ago from someone who saw this header to today’s AJ-C Question of the Day and commented, “I kind of thought the offense was expected to outscore opponents in EVERY game”.
Damn, I love you guys.
The beat writers have my sympathy in the offseason.
Chip thought about it. As he reckoned it, both the offense and the defense would play a role in Georgia’s success come fall.
And so that’s what he wrote in the paper.

I am sure I will get lit up for this, but sometimes I wish things were a little less snarky around here. They used to be. This blog used to be more in depth but friendly discussion, we were mostly people who found this blog as a port in the storm from a lot of other blogs where the commentariat was nonsensical trolling and Feinbaum-esqe. Sadlt, like everywhere else, the pretentious prick ratio has gone up rather sharply around here in the last 5 years.

I hear your plea friend, but I think you’re fighting a losing battle. Everybody, Everybody thinks they’re clever and funny on the internet.

The bottom line is the trolls, the pretentious pricks, and the downright jerks write things they would never say in person. I think the Senator does a good job of handling the trolls and sock puppets. The other commenters do a pretty good job of telling the pricks to go find somewhere else.

He was talking about the Senator, dumbass.

I was not talking about the Senator. I’ve been reading and commenting since he started. There is just a whole lot more people calling each other “dumbass” and such on here now than there was the first 5 years or so of this blog. Now there’s a lot more of the AJC comment section type stuff a lot of the original regular readers were fleeing from. Oh well, it’s the price of the Senator’s well deserved Dawgosphere fame I suppose.

Was Jack not being a little sarcastic?

I sometimes give The Senator a hard time about a few things, but honestly, I think he does a great job, as do most commenters.

You may have noticed that the all games we lost were the ones where the offense didn’t outscore the other team.

Except for that one game where we gave up more points than the other team.

I remember watching Loran Smith ask Jim Donnan (in 98 or 99) “next week, do you think you’ll have to score more points than [Hal Mumme’s UK offense] to win the game?” Donnan didnt even pause just said “yeah Loran, i think so…” and went into talking about the air raid.

Well, just a reminder to that reader that there may have been games where Alabama’s D actually outscored their O, so think of that for a second, and ask sir Snarkilator, if he’s OK with us doing the same. Chip’s headline is not off by much but he really wasn’t thinking of it that way. Regardless, as long as we have 1 more point than the other guys, and production is coming from any facet, then we are a happy dawgnation.
