Best of luck with it, sir.
“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
Is anyone surprised? I’m not. CMR is very personable and likeable. He also knows football. I expect him to become the best ACC analyst immediately and also be one of the best CFB analysts on television.

Good luck to him. Get paid to talk football and work about 6 months a year. There’s a reason Gene Cheat-zik never tried to get back in the game after being hired by the SECN.
For CMR, this might be a great combination. Have time to do the things you want to do (be a family man, be involved with the game, and do mission work) without the stuff you don’t (recruit, grind throughout the year, put up with 120 18-23 year olds being knuckleheads).

Chizik spent 2 years as a DC at UNC after an on-air stint, didn’t he?

I forgot that. I think he’s had other opportunities since and has decided the SECN life works for him.

Man I hope he isn’t doped up when on air. Will put his viewers right to sleep.

All the above, particularly being animated enough to keep listeners awake and interested, even his broadcast partners,

Obviously some of the people on these posts have never heard RIcht speak. He is awful not only is he boring he has only one octave (monotone) Thank God he is going to be in the ACC. The one thing I remember most is the Miami official saying, ” an angel flew over and dropped him from the sky” boy did that change!!!

I’ll tune in to watch. Having met the guy; he knows football and has a pretty good sense of humor. He’ll be good at it, I just wish the SWC network had gotten to him first.

Guess he won’t be moving back to Athens.

Mark Richt is a first class person and will do well behind the camera/in the booth. These coaching jobs simply overwhelmed him in the end but wish him all the best in the new gig.

I have always liked CMR as a person, and probably always will. He isn’t the most animated speaker but to me that is a feature, not a bug, for broadcasting. So many talking heads think they are the star of the show, and I have a hard time listening to their incessant bs. I’m sure you know some examples of that. I think the production staff will pump him up some, and he will be fine.

If Coach Richt can diagram a play as well as he can diagram a sandwich, he could be the next John Madden.

Haters gonna hate no matter what. Mark Richt is a great man and I wish him well in his new endeavor. So many fans forget all the good he did for UGA. I for one will not. God Bless You Coach.

Give him a few years to get good at it and then see if he can get the promotion to the SEC Network.
