If he continues to win, I have no doubt he’ll be at Georgia until he decides to hang up his whistle.
Bama is going to make a run at him, but I don’t see them leaving their home in 5 Points and the Athens area.

Kirby would be Alabama’s second phone call, but their first is going to be to Dabo Swinney and I don’t believe there will be a need for any further calls.

I don’t think Dabo leaves Clemson. He’s very happy. He’s appreciated. He has the IPTAY crowd behind him and his recruiting staff.

When the proud son of Bainbridge and SW GA wins it all in 2019, it will lead to his retirement from UGA in 2052 as the most successful coach and AD in our hallowed history.
This version of the Red&Black machine is being built and maintained unlike any other. There will be no safe harbors or quarters for our enemies. Those of us that suffered in the Classic City in the 90s will still continue to tell stories “that it always didn’t used to be this way…” as we continue to collect hardware and scalps.

She’s the reason I don’t see them going anywhere even if Georgia doesn’t match Bama money. She may tell him you can go coach football, but the kids and I are staying right here.

It depends. If Kirby’s wins a nattie within the next few years he’s probably here forever. However, if he doesn’t and the fan base turns on him…..

I take anything that coaches say about their future in a job with a large chunk of salt, this statement included.
However, I have to say that I really don’t think Kirby Smart will ever leave Georgia for another college coaching job. For one thing, Florida fan talking points about our championship history aside, this is one of the absolute best jobs in the country. You can recruit here. You can certainly win here. And the commitment from the school and the administration is there in a way that it never has been before. The Georgia Way is a thing, but Kirby has shown that he’s got a lot more power at Butts-Mehre than previous coaches. And, frankly, Kirby Smart loves the University of Georgia. All the rumblings about Kirby having his heart set on being able to come home to Athens one day to coach the Dawgs turned out to be true, obviously. If Kirby leaves Athens voluntarily, I think it would be for a pro job or for life after football. I don’t see anyone outbidding Georgia for his services, and money is the only thing that could take him away. Everything else he already has at Georgia. Genuinely believe he’s living out a dream right now.
