Welp, at least they’re saying the right things.
I don’t expect miracles Saturday. I’d just like to see improvement finding the open receiver and not forcing throws. If Bennett does that, the offense will improve markedly.

KIRBY: On Stetson's work this off week: Two hands on the ball in the pocket and while running. We have made an effort to improve that and decision making and check down throws. Stetson really worked hard on those things.

Reckon that means we get to spend 2020 with Stetson. Pretty rad

Sure sounds that way – sigh. But the coaches are privy to a great deal more than keyboard warriors so there is that. Hope they are right.

Pray that big blue sucks on Saturday, that UGA gets to a HUUUGE lead and more UGA qb’s get game day reps…..

This sure sounds like ride or die with SBIV. Kirby has a problematic history with respect to quarterbacks.

Disagree. It sounds like they want to see specific improvement out of Bennett. I don’t think they’ll stick with him if he doesn’t show it.

I sure hope you’re right Senator but I think he’s it regardless. Maybe if Bennett is ineffective Kirby will channel Saban and sub at the half.

I’m with you. If he suffers in the first half I do think we get to see another QB. Who that be is really an interesting question.

My guess is JT. If he flops maybe Dwan again, but we’ll have at least a 3 TD lead before either of them get to play.

Is Kirby engaging in Oracle speak. “The Persians, the Greeks shall defeat.”

If SBIV throws to open receivers and they catch the damn ball?
Dawgs can beat anyone.

Has Kirby tipped his hand here?
Of all the things to mention, he’s concerned about holding the ball with both hands while running? Sounds like some option plays are being installed or at least some QB scrambles and runs. Is this a harbinger for Dwan’s second opportunity to take the reigns? If the O is practicing these kind of things, that’s when Stets’ tendency to hold the ball with one (large) hand would be exposed or noticed. It’ s not as if he has run or scrambled a whole lot so far in games. Wonder if we’re going to see more run/pass option and some plain old QB keepers. I also think we may see Stetson start but share time with another QB, probably Mathis if the drift is towards RPO.
Or possibly a QB sharing situation where Stet is the RPO guy and Daniels is the pocket passing play guy.
What I don’t believe is that Kirby is content to revert to manball. Monken will insist on innovation to improve the O and Kirby will relent.

I have not really noticed the ball security issue. I just hope we see big improvement in finding the open receiver. There have been plenty of instances where hitting a check down option would have resulted in a big gain or score.

Cue commentators lamenting SBIV not hitting open receivers deep in 3…2…1….

I mean, if I had to run my mouth through a slog of a game between SEC east teams, I sure as hell would get material from here. Who wouldn’t?
