Shit, and I just made my reservation yesterday.
Except for offensive line, running back and receiver depth, “Florida, like Alabama, is a bad match up for Georgia” makes complete sense.

"I understand there are still a lot of folks that look at Georgia and say that defense is great, that they are gonna go to Atlanta. But it's all about match up's, it's a match up game and Florida, like Alabama, is a bad match up for Georgia."— Paul Finebaum (@finebaum) October 28, 2020

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
From the same guy who said Auburn would smoke us, I’ll take my chances with the program that has won 3 in a row against the program that hasn’t scored 20 against us with the coach who hasn’t put up over 20 against our coach in over 10 years with the players who have been in quarantine rather than practicing.
Barrett, put your money where your mouth is.

Easy now ee, don’t blow a gasket before your second morning cup, don’t believe the bammers were a bad match up for UGA, there may have been some match ups that the bammers got the better of (physically and statistically)…FU may or may not have a couple match ups that favor them just a little (?) Head Coach ain’t one of them, depth ain’t one of them, “D” ain’t one of them, Special Teams ain’t one of them, “OL” ain’t one of them, RB’s ain’t one of them and the hogtown disaster squad winning next Saturday ain’t one of them….#FTMF

We’re still sitting in the dark from Zeta, so I haven’t had my first cup! Maybe that’s why I’m a little salty this morning.

We were without the juice for about 14 hours all is better. Now the cleanup begins – leaves and limbs everywhere. We only had one tree come down. A huge red oak that fortunately didn’t hit anything other than other trees. Three or four years of firewood for anybody that wants it.
Went to Publix late yesterday – holy cow. They where throwing out EVERY perishable product in the store. No produce – no dairy – no meat – no frozen I mean nothing left.

Our problem is a tree hit a line further up. No damage in our neighborhood. We were lucky.

All of Rabun is down. No pharmacies, supermarkets, gas stations, traffic lights, etc. Transmission lines at the substation that provides electricity for the entire county are out. Might be later Sunday night, according to Ga Power.

That’s awful. Friend of mine who works at Ga Power said one of the lead linemen told him the tree damage is the worst he’s seen.

Hate to hear that. Saw the news this morning. We expected some storms but they elected to go further north.

Picked UF at the beginning of the year. Told the world that Auburn would smoke Georgia and now he’s picking UF again… Good… UF is a one-dimensional offense, without Bama’s line, without Bama’s running back and with one great receiver, who is a tight end without the breakaway speed that Bama had (when Georgia played them).
Oh, and the Gata’s better not be peaking ahead too much… Mizzou is a dangerous football team.

I was a little worried but since Sileee thinks it will be a tough matchup, I’m relieved that it shouldn’t be.

Don’t act like it’s going to be easy for the Dawgs to beat the Gators.

So, you agree with Sallee?

It will be a close game. UF’s offense is very good. UGA will need to score often.

Florida will be the worst defense we’ve seen. Sure, that’s debatable, but our ability to hang 30+ on Grantham’s D is not. Pitts will get his, but I don’t see them scoring much beyond the low 20’s. Gators will need several crucial Dawg mistakes to be competitive.

Even the QB. For as much praise as Trask continues to get, he is largely a dink and dunker.
Our defense is gonna eat them for lunch.

I hope our team focus is on tomorrow, not a week from now.

I’m certainly not as confident about the UF game as some around here are. Looking at the stats, UF on offense does things that don’t exactly make me feel warm and fuzzy about the matchup. Trask is, statistically speaking for passers throwing 100 or more attempts this season, one of the most accurate downfield passers in the SEC. His adjusted completion percentage is over 80% among passers who have at least 100 attempts and second only to Mack Jones (Bennett is last in the SEC in ACP with 100+ attempts). His straight completion percentage is over 70% and second only to Mack Jones (again, Bennett is last in the SEC). Trask has the fewest inaccurate passes in the SEC and only two QBs have more inaccurate passes than Bennett. Trask also has one of the lowest percentages of passes that are considered balls that have a decent probability of balls that can be intercepted where Bennett has one of the higher percentages.
Of course, none of that has anything to do with UF’s defense and whether we can move the ball on the ground against Florida. While I say that I’m not as confident as some about the UF game, I still think that Georgia should win. But some of the things that UF does well are some of the same things that Bama did to Georgia in the second half. And I just don’t think that with our receivers and quarterback Georgia can get into a scoring battle with UF and come out on top. Points are going to be at a premium and Kirby has got to have the mindset that Georgia needs to put up points. Under Kirby, Georgia is 30-1 when they put up 30 or more points (Tennessee game his first year the only loss). He needs to have the mindset to play fast and put up points rather than run the ball, eat clock, and play defense.

Bama ran the football on Georgia. Florida still lacks a running game. If you do not have a running game to keep the defense honest, it frees up the defense to be able to do things in coverages, blitz packages, doubling a certain tight end, ect.

I understand.
I don’t think he necessarily said Florida will win.
I think he said he wasn’t as cocksure and then went on to note the reasons while he was a little uneasy.
I tend to agree with him on a lot of points. Though it could also be succinctly summed up as “Florida is the second best opponent we will have faced.”

Just as importantly, we are 1-7 in games where we give up 30. I don’t see Florida all of a sudden going from 17 to 31+ on our defense. They don’t have a Waddle, Smith, and Metchie combination outside. Is Pitts an excellent player? Yep. I’ll take my chances.

I hope the team isn’t looking past Kentucky like a lot of us seem to be. We can afford to, they can’t.
