So, what do you think the over/under is on the number of Florida players who are suspended for the first half of the Cocktail Party by the SEC office?
************************************************************************
UPDATE: And the answer is…
Florida head coach Dan Mullen has been issued a reprimand by the Southeastern Conference and fined $25,000 for violating SEC Bylaws governing sportsmanship following Saturday’s football game between the University of Missouri and University of Florida.
Fines levied against schools and individuals in the Conference are directed into a fund supporting the SEC’s post-graduate scholarship program. Immediately following the altercation on Saturday, Florida defensive lineman Zach Carter and linebacker Antwuan Powell were ejected for the remainder of the game for fighting and Missouri outside linebacker Tre Williams was ejected for a flagrant unsportsmanlike conduct foul.
According to NCAA Football Playing Rule 9.5.1.b., ejections for fighting carry an automatic half-game suspension for the succeeding game which will result in Carter and Powell serving suspensions for the first half of Florida’s game against Georgia in Jacksonville on Saturday.
In addition, following video review of the incident, the SEC Office has issued a half-game suspension for Missouri linebacker Chad Bailey, offensive lineman Dylan Spencer and defensive lineman Markell Utsey for fighting action during the altercation. Each will miss the first half of Missouri’s game vs. Georgia on November 14 which follows a Missouri open date on November 7.
Nice double dip for the Dawgs.
This looks like a UF problem – not a Mizzou problem. But the SEC is political. 4 players is the over. 1 is the under. None of consequence will be susupended.

“susupended”
That’s be a good wrestling move!
Or a special way to filet fish. 🙂

The SEC will suspend 4 who are at the bottom of the depth chart for their positions.

Mullen is a dip shit. He then proceeds to come back out of the tunnel after the fight and gets the crowd riled up again. And don’t get me started about the Darth Vader outfit for the press conference.

Remember when folks were pining for UGA to hire him? Yeah, those were good times.

WTF – did Mullen just happen to have a Darth Vader costume lying around his office. What a total fucking loser.

Yup. More likely they would suspend UGA players for a half for spectating the fight.

Zero suspensions and no punishment for Mullen either, even though he incited a damn riot and came after an SEC ref. Meanwhile, the Laner got 25k for comments about a missed call.

If that happens I bet Lane points it out.

I don’t see how they do nothing. That was nearly (I said nearly) as bad as the Clemson-SC brawl a few years back. If they do nothing, it’s a license to push bad behavior. And I don’t think Mullen has any good will built up at HQ. The suits know how he acted while he was in Starkvegas.

I assume they’ll suspend the two who were kicked out of the game and fine Mullen.

Not sure how to venture the guess at the over/under. Although I don’t see how you can’t review film and suspend every single player you can identify as having thrown a punch. Anything less is a shame on the league.

The league office will not do anything that effects to outcome of this Saturdays game. Mullen who charged the field should expect a nice sized fine.

Zero. We ain’t that lucky.

17 (Carter?) threw 3 haymakers. He’ll sit at least a half. That may be it.

Yeah, 17 for UF and whoever the Mizzou guy is he’s fighting are definitely out for a game.

If the league thinks the Handbags are a 2nd team in the playoff, no one of note gets suspended.

Media continuing to show the video will cause the sec to do something, should the video go away, then nothing comes of it…and UGA goes to the banks of the st. johns river to kick some hogtown asses…#FTMF

I’m assuming McGarity will step in with the league office and say “golly gee, we’d rather just have a competitive football game, let them all play, by gum…”

How is Dan Mullen allowed to incite and still stay on the sideline??

How about -1.

The league will want to just sweep it under the rug, but the more ESPN plays the video the more they will feel the need to do something. I think Mullen gets a big fine and a few players get suspended for the first half.
Somebody will break down the video of every bunch, and there is no way the SEC can ignore that.

Of this I am certain….had UGA been an involved party, McGarity would have self-imposed suspensions against Kirby and any player involved. smh

What makes it more egregious is Mullen out there in the middle of the melee maskless after a large COVID breakout on him and the team. He will get a fine alone for being out there without a mask.

Mullen came out after the game as Lord Helmet, not Darth Vader. Get it right folks.

Not much difference in the judgement and actions of a Florida head coach and the SEC brass.
One of them must have a hard on for one of them.
SEC’s declaration, “go ahead Mullen just do what the hell you want against Ref’s and sportsmanship”.
