SEC media preseason picks

I didn’t know Shane Beamer’s wife was a member of the media.

Still thinks Kentucky finishes ahead of UF.

    4 of 5 returning OL.

That would be awesome…. but I want dopey Dan to stay at UF forever. We dont want them getting a real coach…

Kentucky quietly has put together a very strong, very physical program. I will not be surprised if they end up being the second best team in the SEC East. I’ll honestly be very surprised if they finish any lower than 3rd.

How much dope do you have to smoke for picking South Carolina to win the conference to seem like a good idea?

You could just be a writer that knows that any pick is pointless and for fun and then…have a little fun with it. Hell, someone picked Arkansas to win the West. I for one would like to see that happen.

I wonder if the same person picked both SC to win the East and Arkansas to win the west.

What surprises me is that nobody picked Mizzou to win the SEC East. Mizzou likely has the second best team in the East and is going to dust FU.

All of the talk is about playing Clempson and AL 2x to win a nattly. Please let it be AR.

It’s not Beamer’s wife. It’s his mother. His wife picked him last.

Off topic a bit, but I wanted to relate my trip to sec media days. I had a burning question I needed answered, so I donned my reporter hat I used to wear in sophomore elective journalism class and went to Mullen’s presser. As it was winding up I got my question in:

    Me: “Who run Portaltown?”
    Mullen: mumbles incoherently.
Me, more forcefully: “Who. Run. Portaltown?!”
    Mullen: mumbles “Rostermaster.”
    Me: “Say again. Say… louder!”
Mullen, now with blaring loudspeakers echoing: “ROSTERMASTER RUN PORTALTOWN..OWWN..OWWN!”

I can’t believe Emerson would treat his media vote so carelessly. LOL.

Given that there are at least 7 UF homers in the media, these numbers check out

Did the SEC contract with the Florida Board of Elections to design the ballots or something this year? Pretty sure the vote for South Carolina to win its second conference title in history (and first in the SEC) had to be a dangling chad situation.

It will be interesting to see what kind of BS and propaganda flow from the MFU message boards and blogs in the next week and leading up to the season. The Gators have the same amount of votes to win the conference as South Carolina. That’s gotta sting if you’re a Gamecocks fan.
Anywho…is it possible that reality will set in on the jorts society now that they can see what the rest of the southland thinks of their program.

Maybe they were just listed as “Carolina” and someone confused them with UNC or the whole USC-USCeast thing.
