Talent, schmalent

I found this an interesting Twitter discussion between Gator fans.

Shot.

Chasers.

Hindsight is as undefeated in Gainesville as it is everywhere else on the planet.  I love how the dude’s argument quickly morphed in the face of David’s rebuttal from coaching the talent up (how far up is your fourth string QB gonna go?) to it being a recruiting failure.

It’s just a matter of time before Wunderlich is labeled a Georgia homer.

Not to mention, what happens when UF has an injury at QB? EJ is going to have to run constantly and will take tons of hits. The last time Mullen had an inaccurate running QB, it ended painfully for him.

I think they’ll change QB’S after the Alabama game. The kid can make the good to great throw pretty well., but can’t hit a 15 yard slant consistently. And it’s been pointed out that he’s going to get hit “a lot”.

He’ll be in the portal before Thanksgiving.

  4. Hmmm … before Bennett took the dirty hit, he was picking the Handbags’ defense apart. If spiking the ball against zone coverage would be better, that must mean Towel Boy’s defense really sucked.

Those FU fan boy posts won’t age well. Kirby has flipped the script FU is in the beginning stages of looking up at Georgia for a long time.

Expect future posts to get more desperate. They should look to North Avenue for guidance on what to complain about after Georgia kicks your ass annually.

James Swofford is privy to Mullen’s plan for beating us again in 2021:
    1. Convince Daniels to leave the team rather than enter COVID-19 disaster Jacksonville.
    2. Injure Davis the week before the game.
    2. Get Cine to have a serious motorcycle accident the Saturday before the game.
    3. Convince the medical staff that Beck and Vandergriff aren’t ready to play.
    4. Injure Bennett in the first quarter on a touchdown play.
It is a genius plan and shows how Mullen is a better coach than Smart. Smart never thought of convincing Emory Jones to leave his team!

He might be a Gator, but to his credit, Wunderlich is, consistently, a pretty dispassionate observer of his own team and their rivals. Good on him.

If I ever become as delusional as a Gator I hope someone shoots me.

I’m sick of hearing about how bad Stetson Bennett was last season. The fact is Georgia was leading the Cocktail Party until Bennett got hurt on a play where he threw a TD pass. The rusher hit Bennett with the crown of his helmet, ducking his head to do it after the ball was gone and while Bennett was a defenseless player. In other words targeting—but no call. I watched the game again the other night and replayed that hit half a dozen times. It was a cheap shot and I’m certain the player was coached to do it and the SEC refs blew the call yet again. The ugly fact is that FU cheats. Their HC is a douchebag who coaches his players to try to injure members of the other team particularly when the opponent is Georgia. FU won the game last year because of a cheap shot and I hope Kirby and others on the staff are emphasize that in preparation for the FU game this season.
