Oregon fans, it’s also a great way to bump into Georgia Tech fans.
For Oregon fans coming to Atlanta that don't know, Dragon Con is also this weekend. People watching downtown is quite the experience.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Too easy, Sen. 😂😂

I took the family one year when one of my sons was really into sci-fi. ( he was 10). We made the mistake of walking around after dark and ran into several fit young ladies who had nothing on but body paint. While I didn’t mind a bit, the wife put an end to our evening walk real quick.

So Oregon fans will get to experience the GT student body in all their glory. They will return to the west coast with a full understanding of why we make fun of them.

They can also drive through downtown Portland if they need an immediate refresher of freak show

From what I hear, Portland is more like Mogadishu.

Those two festivals (BGP and Comic Con) coincided with the kickoff game in 2016 against UNC. The post game walk to the car was 🤡

Dragoncon is so far removed from what it started as. People now go only for the drugs and and furry sex. The partying rivals any I’ve ever seen.

Use to feel the same way about the Bobbin Convention…

Huh, I wonder if I knew him. I damn near became their road manager once upon a time. Those shows with Blues Traveler and Little Women were epic!

Charlie was part of the Broad River crowd. John(Bubba) Snell (RIP) and those hippies. Nice fellas.
Indiana pulled that out of their ass.

Crap, I just watched the end. That was a hard runnin crew for sure. Do you know big Steve from the Theater? Lost his arm to jet on a carrier?

No sir, I don’t know that particular big Steve.
The authorities thought that Broad River group was some sort of cult. The reality was they were a bunch of hippies that liked to smoke weed and play volleyball in the woods down on the river. Some bought property there and they all pitched in and helped build damn fine homes. Their idea of living off the land in harmony with nature came to a screeching halt once nature in the form of wildlife denuded their gardens. They found out most rikki tik why country folks are armed and dead shots. In short order they reentered society and got jobs.
Just a nice group of people, Scotty Edwards stands out in my memory. He’s a fine carpenter.
Gotdam hippies.

Scottie was one-of the few folks at theFarmer’s market I could talk to about sports! Great dude. Do you know ChuckM? Great carpenter, 101st. Stiched by an AK.

No sir, I don’t know ChuckM. But I know a lot of folks been hit with 7.62×39 FMJ. Thanks to The Hague Convention, brave fuckers the likes of Spur21 and excellent US medical care that’s a survivable wound. I’ve seen what a simple hollow point from an AK will do to a deer and brother it ain’t pretty. FMJ passes through simpler.
I had a good friend was a Thai exchange student with the proverbial stitching. Three AK wounds from his right hip up to his shoulder. Nasty exit scars. Fighting the Vietnamese in early 80’s over Cambodia. He was still out there doing the deed. That cold winter of ‘84-85 sent him home to the tropics. Whenever I get a bit of sand in my vajayjay I think of Tanyaphuk and the hard ass American soldiers who survived to train me and I dig a little deeper.
Madness.
GO DAWGS !!!

Took our boys a few years ago just to see the spectacle and the parade (saw Billy Dee Williams!) but it was a year Bama was playing. The looks on their faces was priceless.

After the UGA/UNC game in 2016, we took the escalator down to Peachtree Center Station. Coming up the escalator was a lady attending DragonCon “dressed” as Darryl Hannah’s Priss from Blade Runner. For about five minutes, my thoughts were far removed from CFB.
