Friday morning buffet

It’s no chicken biscuit, but here’s some football news to get you going:

  • Not that this should surprise anyone, but the NCAA has gotten around to investigating Bryce Brown’s Svengali, Brian Butler.
  • David Hale linked to this post-combine interview with Knowshon Moreno.  He loves us; he really, really loves us!
  • Dontae Aycock speaks. The problem is that Dontae Aycock isn’t so good on the listening end.  But he sounds happy with his fate and Paul Johnson got to make his point, so I suppose this wound up being a win-win situation in a perverse way.
  • In case you’re wondering how much it cost to rebuild the staff in Columbia, the answer is a lot more than it did two years ago, but a lot less than they’re spending in Knoxville.

At this point, is there any doubt that Bryce Brown is going to end up in Knoxville?

    Over/under on Kiffin’s tenure: 3 years.

That interview really depresses me we don’t have Knowshown another year. Any kid that picks Walter Payton to emulate is OK by me.

    I heart Knowshon.

Knowshon to San Diego would be an interesting fit, because his playing style is similar to that of LT, who he would be replacing. Since my NFL loyalties are based on the number of Dawgs on the roster, I am particularly interested in this year’s draft. I need to know who to occasionally watch next year.

The chest thumping by Techies makes me laugh. Aycock made a private commitment. That’s no commitment at all. It’s only a commitment when it is made publicly. That’s why all commitments are made with witnesses to attest that the commitment was made. Nobody outside of Aycock and the Tech staff knew of his “silent commitment.” On the other hand, Stephen Hill made a public commitment, openly and publicly questioned his commitment, and the scholarship offer was not pulled. It totally discredits your original hard-nosed, line-in-the-sand approach if you piss your pants and fold a week later over something much more egregiously public.

Brian Butler will be wearing orange (of the prison variety) soon enough. I don’t know about Bryce Brown. I actually hope Bryce signs with the Vols. Knoxville needs more soap opera stars.

If I committed to Tech, I’d keep it private too.
