• I guess Mack Brown’s oratorical skills are in decline.  Remember when he sweet talked his peers into moving Texas ahead of Cal in the polls so that his team could squeak into a BCS game?  Now he can’t get his fellow Big XII coaches to undo the greatest wrong ever done to a college football team ever.  Maybe his AD will have better luck.
• It doesn’t sound like the Coaches’ Poll is headed for vast improvement.  Unless you believe that shrouding the entire process in a cloak of mystery is a good thing.  Which Grant Teaff evidently does.
• Smart Football cites Homer Smith for the proposition that spreading the field isn’t necessarily all it’s cracked up to be.
• Please, God, no.
• In the context of the BCS, Kyle King says that a little elitism is a good thing.
