Mike Bobo talks about walking the 2010 offensive tightrope.

He sounds a little nervous.

… Are you ready to begin season without a backup who has played QB during preseason? “It’s looking that way. It is scary. It’s scary starting any season with a new quarterback who hasn’t played a lot, which we will be and now you don’t have any depth at that position is scary, but that’s where we’ve got to as an offensive football team really depend on our offensive line this year and hopefully this is the year that we stay healthy and stay together and play like we think we can play.”

On what he would do if something happened to starter Aaron Murray in the first week or two: “I’d say naturally it would be Logan Gray. He’s got experience. He’s practiced that position for three years. …Unless the freshman comes out here and lights it up and we feel like `Hey, we’ve got something right here.’ You never know who would surprise you. If something happened, I’d probably say Logan right now.”

On freshman QB Hutson Mason: “Obviously we liked the kid, his ability and his makeup or we would never have recruited him and offered him a scholarship. I don’t want to put this on the guy and say you have to live up to this guy but he reminded me a lot of David Greene when we had him in camp last summer. I liked him then, but we just weren’t going to offer him at that time. …His head’s going to be spinning Day One because he could be running second-team huddle.”

Sure would be nice if ULaLa were a thirty-point blowout with the bench getting emptied in the third quarter.

While I see your point about Mason playing against ULaLa, I hope it’s a 30-point blowout and Murray is still working hard running the huddle, being a leader, and handing the ball to our 2-headed backfield monster.

He needs all the game experience he can get before we meet the G-cocks…

And if, by any chance, Bobo is lucky enough to to get the invite to the Media Days to perform, he’ll pull this guy off his bar tour at the Voodoo Lounge in San Jose to come to Lower Birmingham to provide background music

Please don’t associate any guys with beards with the Georgia football team.

Bradley hates facial hair, and Leon Russell will become another reason the program is out of control.

Hey, it makes as much sense as the horror of a college kid with a beer in his hand.

    BTW great music grab.

Let’s face it Bobo had better calm his alter ego that changes what is working into absolute chaos. Bad Bobo can go from 80 yard TD drives to 5 straight 3 and outs in the time it takes to say balanced attack. If he will just keep running the attack until the other team stops it instead of stopping it his bad self we will be fine.

I completely agree with 69Dawg. Numerous times, it has seemed that Bobo has seen that something was working and decided to quit doing it. Very frustrating…

Mike Bobo has first hand experience with the effect of key players going down without decent reserves. Remember 96, when he and Robert Edwards went down for the season in the first 2-3 games. Ray Goff was instantly a dead man walking.

Hey Senator, I hadn’t heard about the Shawn Williams story until I saw it at the bottom of Weiszer’s blog that you linked. Can you put up a post about it to call some attention to the fundraising effort? How devastating to lose your home… we need to rally to support one of our Dawgs.

The only question in my mind is whether Brandon Boykin, Branden Smith or Orson Charles would make a better backup quarterback should Aaron Murray go down.
