Or how far east Ft. Worth actually lies. There are 2 issues I’d concern myself with if I was TCU fan: AQ status & where am I going? San Diego beats Syracuse; Colorado Springs trumps Cincinnati; etc. But AQ trumps it all.

I saw someone else make the following point; while it’s slightly apples to oranges, it does ring true.

“TCU in the Big East makes as much sense as Dallas in the NFC East. Oh wait.”

It may not make sense geographically but those 4 teams make for great divisional match-ups year in and year out and they absolutely love being in a division together (through their mutual hatred of each other). If Dallas wanted more regional opponents, they could’ve easily done so when the NFC realigned a few years back. If TCU fits the Big East as well as Dallas fits the NFC East, TCU will be very fortunate.

Regarding TCU and travelling, it amazes me how people never let facts get in the way. Everyone was snickering about the travel schedule for TCU when this move was announced. UCF would be a good pickup for the Big East if they can pull it off.

Corch Meyers is a hell of a guy. Just ask him. Boy when he was winning games he sure was out there. Making guest appearances on ESPN, basking in the limelight. First class asshole. I used to think the Old Ball Coach was the biggest dick I would ever see at UF. Good job Corch.

I live down here in Gainesville and the mood is dour to say the least. People want to complain about Bobo, well imagine if you had Addazio. Despite UGAs lackluster season, I take great solace in the fact that UF had a down year. If they had won another BCSC, my head would have exploded.

    • I remember The OBC leading the alma mater for the Gators in 93, 94, and 01 after losing to Auburn. Didn’t see Corch Meyers doing that in 06 or 07.

Wow, can you drive from Fort Worth to Louisville and Cincinnati in 3-5 hours like you can to Austin, San Antonio, and Houston?

Wouldn’t a better point be that TCU’s travel is not going to be any worse than it already was in the MWC playing San Diego State, BYU, Wyoming, and Utah?

Someone else made the point that while the distances might be similar, it’s much easier/cheaper to fly to eastern destinations, than to hot spots likes Boise and Nevada. Of course, I don’t think there are a hoard of people following TCU where ever they travel.

Feinstein may be an asshole, but he’s also right.

Paul Johnson: “If we don’t put the ball on the ground, I don’t know if they ever stop us.”

The arrogance of the man is just stunning. Hey, PJ, remember that first “drive” where you got the ball in our own territory because we couldn’t field a kickoff? We shut you down on four straight plays. You didn’t put the ball on the ground after GEORGIA put the ball on the ground, giving you the ball with ample time and opportunity to go down the field and win the game with a field goal. No, you went four-and-out because YOU called the most RETARDED set of plays possible. You NEVER gave it to your A-back, and you had your sub-par (even for your terrible passing program) quarterback try to chuck it twice after he jammed it in reverse on first and second down. That’s right, PJ, for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, you panicked and started trying to throw the ball all over the place, because you just assume that your offense is so perfect, it can all of a sudden change into a passing offense without passing personnel. Oh, and YOU didn’t “put it on the ground”. Bacarri Rambo and Akeem Dent put it on the ground FOR YOU, and Justin Houston put it IN the ground in the end zone. Also, you have a turkey neck.

CPJ must’ve been hit with the stupid stick.

Here’s a mindbender for Captain Obvious: If Georgia never put the ball on the ground the game isn’t even close!

I think even more impressive was how the defense came out and smacked their lil’ bug abdomens back on four straight plays when Yech got the ball down 35-34 after the fumbled 4th down snap.

The TCU link was quite educational, confirms this made a lot of sense for TCU. It also points out how much more attractive an SEC offer would have been for them had one been offered. I do think the super-conference is coming, not as soon as we might have thought it 6-8 months ago, and that TCU and T A&M would have been nice pick-ups for the SEC.

I hope you are right about the inevitability of the super conference. That is the only way we can get to a playoff in my lifetime, and it would insure better matchups for fans, no more weekends like November 20 where it was hard to find a decent game in some time slots.

We were so close this summer, now it will take several years to reach that flash point again. Indeed, gangstas like Jim Delany in the Big 10++ may put safeguards in that will prevent it from happening at all.

YouTube Paul Johnson’s press conference from after the game. THAT is why it took him so long to get a “big” job and why Tech is about as big time as he’ll ever get. He is an unbelievably arrogant asshole and treats ever one like they are stupid. Basically, like I’ve said for 3 years, he’s Jim Donnan with a gimmick offense in a crappy conference.

How much does the AJC pay Mark to write that stuff? Whatever it is, it is way, way too much.

God, I’m going to have to hear from Techies that we “stole the game” from them for the next g**damn year. As if UGA’s fumbles happened in a complete vacuum and were of no benefit to Tech, or as if 2008’s TO fueled 3 point loss never happened. No, Tech’s few victories are unsullied by anything other than pure athletic superiority, while Georgia’s massive series lead is leaden with luck and stolen wins. Oh, go die in a fire.

Feinstein writing on college football is a joke. When is the last time he saw a live game involving anyone other than Navy?
