Tuesday morning buffet

The buffet line is open.

  • Jeebus, has ‘Bama been a dominant program the past few years.
  • First look at Vegas win totals for 2013 – limited, though, to only 19 teams.  (Georgia’s not among them.)
  • I have to admit one thing the NCAA does well is chutzpah.
  • Phil Steele explains his thinking when he names freshmen to his All-Conference teams.
  • Here’s another “no-huddle comes to the SEC” piece.
  • Yeah, yeah, rocks, glass houses and all that stuff, but I still like the sound of “Incarce-Gators”.  (Also known as Huntley Johnson’s Hall of Fame.)
  • Why the Tide won’t three-peat.
  • The way Coach O describes Reggie Carter“He was a good football player in high school. He was an instinctive guy. He was a guy who made a lot of tackles and had production. He caught the balls that were thrown at him and he made nice plays.” – seems reminiscent of another Gwinnett County product, Rennie Curran, no?

Drug testing in the SEC. Honey Badger @ LSU and Aaron Hernandez @ UF. No conference wide policy. What does UGA say? Or the NCAA?

Love me some “Incarce-gators”! Could we just go to the Patriot’s organization for some follow-up on these I-gs (and I don’t mean Hernandez). There are 4-5 post Meyer I-g players on there including the new Amelioration-gator, Tim.

I usually try to keep an even keel when posting on other schools’ boards, so don’t take this the wrong way.

Alabama is actually only a handful of plays and an injury or two away from 5-peating. A bad quarter – albeit the 4th – vs. Tebow in the 2008 SECCG cost us a title game appearance. In 2010, I won’t argue the USC loss, but there were a couple of injuries along the way – e.g. Fluker, Ingram, Dareus – and a play or two against LSU and Auburn that cost us those games.

Sure, that’s a lot of coulda, woulda, shouldas, but it’s not *that* far off.

And sure, there were a couple of plays, that had they gone the other way, could have cost us in the other three years.

    Have a good day,

    BD

of course there were injuries along the way, or did you forget that your team is human too? the pendelum has swung in your team’s favor far too long, perhaps deservedly so, but don’t expect it to continue.

Or, change two plays and Bama has won 1 MNC over the last 5 years. The knife cuts both ways.

I guess my point is, be happy with the three you have.

I totally agree with you and wasn’t trying to come off jerkish. Believe me, I’m fat and happy.

09 took two blocked field goals against UT, 11 and 12 both took several teams losing each year.

BD…we get it, believe me. Playing this game hurts.

2012 – If Gurley steps up and blocks the linebacker at the line, Murray’s pass doesn’t get tipped, Mitchell catches the TD and we go on to stomp Notre Dame.

2007 – If Tennessee doesn’t block a Kentucky FG attempt in OT, we go on to beat LSU and stomp Ohio State.

2002 – If Edwards…nevermind…don’t ever want to think about that game again…

I would think team “attitude”, especially early in the season, will be the toughest challenge for Saban. Kids are gonna walk with swagger and feel the game is won before the opening whistle…always a great opportunity for the upset.

Vegas post updated for all teams with Dawgs over/under at 9.5 games. If the schedule wasn’t so front-loaded with Clemson, USCe and LSU I’d have more confidence in the “over”.

    • Yeah…but as far as the Fabris pool goes…it will be real interesting to weigh the over/unders. Taking it all this year beginning with week one instead of week four.
