I’m sure this is going to end in tears for all concerned.
One day we’re going to look back at how Georgia responded to the NCAA’s investigation of AJ Green and his jersey and think “how quaint”.
Or “chumps”.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

“They don’t belong to no football players,” Al-Betar said
And with that, the NCAA said they had all the evidence they needed to clear the entire Alabama football program and all it’s players from any wrong doing. Case closed.

I wonder what would’ve happened if we’d just told the NCAA to pound sand back when A.J.’s “scandal” was uncovered. The way those Keystone Kops operate, it really does incentivize telling them to shove it over groveling in guilt.

Longtime readers of this blog will remember that I said exactly that at the time.

Tom clearly does not understand the process. If I lived in Tuscaloosa (Siberia near Mississippi) I don’t believe I would thumb my business nose at the Crimson Tide football program.
A small, focused tornado is likely to happen.

The NCAA has no subpoena power. Even if it did, Yeldon et al. already have their scripts to remember, and any inquiries to interview them or see bank statements will get stonewalled. As I have said, the whole state of Alabama . . . well you know the rest.

And look, it’s Jeremy Fowler, the guy who groveled to Corch when Corch threatened to punch him for printing an accurate quote from a player.
“If he were my son we’d be going at it. You’re a bad man.”

AJ taught all of college football a big lesson……take cash and don’t deposit it.

Cash? Nah, pre-paid debit cards. Who needs cash?

“Alabama issued a statement from athletic director Bill Battle: “We are aware of the story produced today. As part of our ongoing compliance efforts, our compliance department looks into everything that warrants concern. The Good Guys are all over this!!

I thought all the NCAA had to do was ask to see the bank records of the players involved and they would simply be turned over? Isn’t that the type of “cooperation” that is required of member institutions and “student” athletes?

If you don’t deposit the money, there ain’t gonna be much to glean from bank records.

And you know the rest of the country appreciates all UGA keeps doing to provide easy examples on how NOT to break NCAA rules.

Yes and no, Mr. Sanchez. ..Not “The rest of”, but certainly “much of” the country appreciates scruples..honesty….honor…..all those good things that the “win at any and all costs” crowd doesn’t appreciate.
I don’t use the word “karma”, because it’s really an eastern mysticism idea, but it does closely resemble another truth that I do absolutley believe.
“Whatsoever a man shall sow, that also shall he reap”.
Not my words..someone much bigger than any of us made this promise.

Jen doesn’t use it anymore either because it put her husband on a losing streak

The most “wow!” thing I got from that article is that Bill Battle is AD as Bama. Isn’t that like the son of Bobby Dodd being our AD?

The NCAA is so full of “SH T” that they should have floated away the last time it rained. Proof being its ” Not who you meet and eat, it’s who you know and Blow”. Bama, Miami, and Awbarn (2) not enough evidence, are you kidding ? One day Mark Emmert and his cronies will hear this loud bang, it will be their heads popping out of their asses. NCAA what a joke…

The NCAA says it is OK as long as the players didn’t know they were getting money when they signed all that stuff.
There is precedent here.
