As I said, South Carolina appears to be a well-coached team, based on what I saw Saturday. Here’s an indication of that.

I thought we had first game tackling issues.

Smart and Tucker played a ton of kids last Saturday. I think that must’ve affected those missed tackle numbers.

This. Sc left the first string in a long time.

Is it really good news for SC if they tackled markedly better, played their starters longer, and yet gave up 15 to our 0?

I’ve been concerned about our line play on both sides of the ball last Saturday. I sure hope that it was nothing more than 1st game jitters, but Carolina is alot better than Austin Peay. I know we have the talent advantage, but the line play is going to have to be much better for us to win. All the issues with targeting might have some effect on the tackling numbers also.

I think it might have been just the opposite of 1st game jitters. I think it was just a ho-hum first game for a lot of the starters…and that’s not a good thing…but it may explain it. Or maybe they became so used to Roquan smacking down every ball carrier before anyone else could even get close to them has them conditioned to hold off.

I’m quite concerned about this as well. Hopefully, this week will be much better.

Their quarterback had some moves. Looked like a lot of missed tackles were in the backfield trying to get him. I know Walker had at least two whiffs.
I doubt Bentley will present such a problem.

These numbers are skewed, but don’t you know it gave our coaches some thing to harp on this week. I expect we will clean it up a lot.
Not shocked by Florida’s numbers because Fat Todd coaches poor tackling.
