“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
What???? Does he now believe that “someone else” was forging his voice on tape? Lis, lies, and damned lies…Nick Chubb should still sue him for defamation of character. Methinks now that Probst is now being probed, he’s looking to throw anyone he can find under a semi.

Please excuse the misspelling of the first “lies”; I was so outrages that I hit Backspace by mistake…

No sweat. That’s probably how Propst spells it.

Thanks for bringing it full circle, Senator. With much lower stakes, it reminds me of the Senate hearing in Godfather II, when the witness sees his brother sitting with the Corleone family. “Did I say Georgia? I meant…no one, no one is taking money…it was all my idea…I took the money…”

I for one am certain – absolutely certain- that rivals such as UF, UT, AU, SCU…heck even the writers at Ohio State 247, will publish and comment on this important update with the same voracity as they did back when Rush’s audio was originally made public.
In fact, I’m certain they all are commenting amongst themselves on their various message boards just how wrong and idiotic they were to give Rush Probst any credibility whatsoever from the outset; all while reflecting on how they can learn from this experience next time around. Finally, I’m certain that profuse apologies having given to you UGA, Kirby Smart, and the program as a whole.

Man who really loves to coach football realizes just how big a hornet’s nest he poked in the two states where he could continue to make a living at it.
What an idiot.

My reaction is, how the hell does a sociopath like Propst end up coaching at Valdosta High? I’ve been gone from the state for a long time, VHS used to be a class act. Of course, my experience in Valdosta dates from the Wright Bazemore era.

The short answer is the white flight from the city school system but even that can’t fully explain how they thought that Rush of all people wouldn’t fuck them like he did his two wives and two previous high schools.

Yeah. From what I understand at the time of desegregation in 1968 (some 14 years after Brown), like 65% of the kids at Valdosta HS were white in 1970. Last time I read about it, it was down to less than 20% white at VHS but more about 60% of Lowndes County HS was white (in 1970 the percentages were reversed). That being said, I can’t imagine how any school board member or school administrator (white or black) looked at Propst’s history and thought, “This great guy is going to wonderful things for our football program!”

I don’t follow as to what skin color has to do with VHS’s football fortunes. When I was a student at VHS in the late 90s, the ratio was probably 60% black, 40% white, and the football program won a state title.

Certainly it doesn’t. I was more just commenting on the previous post mentioning white flight from Valdosta city schools. As I mentioned, I can’t imagine anyone of any race believing that Propst was a good hire with his background.

Don’t you know that Hoover program with Propst and Pruitt on the same coaching staff was a regular petri dish of swirling personality disorders.

And where we learned that Jeremy Pruitt is so fucking stupid he had no idea what Asparagus was as a 30 year old man.

VHS alum here. I’ve been gone 20 years, but Valdosta fired state championship-winning coach Alan Rodemaker with no reason given before hiring Propst. My goodness, did we downgrade. VHS fired another state champ, Mike O’Brien, years ago and lived to regret it.

Because Lowndes County started beating that ass, thats why.

He sounded pretty certain on that audio. He did not sound like a man who had any doubts about what he was saying (as he was probably making it up on the spot). Shows you how good of a liar he really is. He sounded TOTALLY all in on something he now says he has no knowledge of (that he knew was a lie at the time he said it). Sounds like he has a bright future in politics or reality TV

How can you tell when Rush Propst is lying? His lips are moving. (I know it is old and worn out, but in this case so true).

I don’t think improper payments by UGA are his problem. Valdosta and this asshat paying HS players are his concern. Sack of shit

What an absolutely worthless excuse for a human being. Two hundred pounds of pig shit walking around in a human suit.
Meanwhile, I’m sure all the Ohio State and Florida fans who have been crowing about this all week will humbly admit they were wrong.

My first thought – he didn’t voluntarily withdraw his comments. Lie or not he didn’t just wake up and decide to come clean or deny the story. I suspect someone got in his ear.

You mean that “allegedly” that he said his attorney told him to put in there did not give him immunity? Doesn’t “allegedly” give you the right to say anything about anyone with no consequences? In that case I have hear that Rush Propst is “allegedly” a lying sack of shit with absolutely no redeeming qualities as a human being and “allegedly” has sexual relations with barnyard animals. Is that how this allegedly thing works?

Yeah, you nailed it.
To allege is to claim or assert without proof that an illegality or immoral act has been committed.
Probst: “I said Bama and UGA are ALLEGEDLY paying recruits. ALLEGEDLY.”
Human with Brain: “Who alleged it?”
Probst: “Huh?”
Human with Brain: “Who claimed without proof Bama and UGA are paying recruits?”
Probst: “I did.”
Human with Brain: “So you’re repeating your own allegation?”
Probst: “Yeah.”
Human with Brain: “Have fun in court.”

Rush Probst is a good football coach first, possibly a Mormon or good lover second, and an effective headhunter for coaching jobs third. He is not someone who can effectively speak to the practices of college football programs, especially the one who spurned him for the three aspects listed above. Nick Saban or Kirby don’t want to have to conduct practices with one eye over their shoulder wondering if their former HS coach is trying to bed their wives.
In other news, all college football players get some form of compensation, but not the full extent of what they deserve. Some more than others. If I could personally pay Chubb 180000 dollars, I would, just for they sheer joy of watching him represent our university on the field and off, but I can’t. But I do believe he deserved it. DGD.

My take is this. He spends more money than he makes. He wanted to supplement his income with illegal booster money that couldn’t and wouldn’t be traced. Like robbing a drug dealer. He was trying to convince the other fellow that boosters collecting money to buy recruits is totally normal. “Everyone is doing it man. If Saint Chubb took money then it’s so common that you’re a fool not to do the same.”
