Your game day (non-Dawg) post

Here’s what the football gods have in store for us today.

It’s not as dramatic as week six, but there are still games that caught my eye:

  • Oklahoma State at Texas.  How much did last week take out of the Longhorns?
  • Auburn at Arkansas.  Another data point to evaluate the middle of the SEC.
  • Vanderbilt at South Carolina.  Somebody gets to win their first (and probably only) conference game.
  • Alabama at Mississippi State.  Can Leach screw with Saban?
  • Ole Miss at Tennessee.  The Vols are feeling pretty good about themselves right now, but all I can feel about this game right now is that the two teams stand a decent shot of breaking the Neyland Stadium scoreboard.

What’s got your attention.  The comments are there for you.

I hope they honor Kiffin at halftime for his year of service

They should; his year was the last time they ever had realistic hope. Then he reduced the once proud program to a mere stepping stone job; and a bad one at that.

Absolutely correct- he was Stalingrad. He left them to a slow march to oblivion, leaving a stinking trail of their orange dead. Such a tragedy.

    I see…

A rare UT game I care to watch against someone other than UGA. POINTS!

Arkansas Auburn could be wild. Could be a slog.

LSU’s due for a “feel good” win for the embattled/outbound coach. Glad to see UF take that “feel good” loss.

If OSU (or any other remaining Big 12 team from now till Texas is gone) can get up on Texas, there will be absolutely no mercy. We have a shot to see it today, and I hope we do.

If Mike Leach can turn Bama one dimensional by stealing an early lead, that game could get very interesting. Anything short of that will be an absolute blood bath; there is nothing possible in between. Post-loss Bama is usually a killer.

Lots of fireworks on the schedule today.

Two questions I have: Has Coach O got a shot at beating Chizik’s record-setting sprint from the crystal to the buyout? Last year’s short schedule gives him the edge in game-count. (2) When he takes his place on the SEC Network, will he be subtitled or use a live translator?

  10. I’m so glad we don’t have a basketball player on our football jerseys like Florida. So bad.

Coach O, though maybe loveable, is no Socrates. Idiotic defense at end of half.

If this keeps up, LSU is not even going to need a shoe toss to win.

I’ve been saying all offseason that Jones would not be the starter by the time we played UF. It appears I may be right and I hate it. Richardson is so much better than Jones. Of course UF figures out their QB issues the game before the play us.

I Think Mullen had hoped to showcase the Richardson side of the playbook in Jacksonville, but he had to make the move today. Kirby has 2 weeks to prepare.

Did you notice Sideshow didn’t have a smile on his face when he went out to shake with Coach O?

Once again the offensive GENIUS of Dopey Dan and the defensive prowess of 3rd and Grantham snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Can’t wait to see what Swamp Talk has to say about this. Since they did put up 42 points, is this another moral victory?

    Interesting response from Anthony Richardson
Anthony Richardson asked about fans worrying that he might transfer or leave: “I can’t really speak on that. Time is the only thing that tells. Right now I’m a Gator.”

Are the wheels coming off in Hogtown?

Meanwhile, up in Knoxville, the last 54 seconds of the game have been delayed by 20 minutes because fans are throwing debris onto the field after a Tennessee 4th and 24 was about a half yard short of a first down. Stay classy, Knoxville.

UT QB just ran out of bounds as time expired rather than try to throw the ball into the end zone. I mean, that’s one way to end the game.
