    I imagine the two conversations Greg Sankey will have later today will go like this:

    “Jimbo and Ross, shut the fuck up.” -click-

    “Coach Saban, is there anything I can do for you in these trying times? The refs are already in your pocket, but I could introduce new bylaws that state when you’re missing your two best WRs due to injury, you get a 10 point handicap for the game if you want, Sir.”

    Personal? I fail to see how publicly saying what everyone else believes, that A&M’s collective violated NCAA rules by enticing recruits to sign with A&M with promises of NIL deals, is personal. The only thing that Saban should have said differently was that A&M’s boosters and collective bought that recruiting class instead of saying A&M bought that class. Saban specifically stated that he is in favor of NIL for his players. Love him or hate him, he’s right. It is against NCAA rules to use promises of NIL deals to entice recruits to sign with your school and he’s right that the NCAA is doing nothing about it.

      The problem is that you can entice and not really break the rules.

      What Saban said suggested, without evidence, that A&M broke the rules when they could have gotten to the same point as they did within the rules.

      The other thing Saban said was that they are not doing anything different than A&M with the exception of dividing the collective money across the board. Suggesting his shit don’t stink for that distinction alone is a bit rich.

      Finally he pretty expressly said that the kids who picked A&M picked them on money alone and that neither the kids or the adults had anything in their minds except greed. Which may be true, but its definitely personal.

      Saban’s suggestion that he is too good to play in the game that A&M is playing and is only concerned with academics and human development is also personal and bullshit as was made clear when he said if he has to he’ll do it Jimbo’s way, so as usual Saban is a bag of shit, period. He may be wrestling with a pig, but we know where that pig learned how.

    I could be wrong but that’s the first time I’ve ever heard Nick Saban cut loose with something so personal and intemperate like that. Blutarsky made the point earlier that A&M has lots more money to throw around than Alabama. Maybe that sank in on Nick and for the first time he feels threatened. He thought he had recruiting automated in his golden years and now he’s gonna have to go out and hustle again.

      I know. Jimbo gets a lot of credit for being able to keep Winston mostly eligible for 2 years and winning the ACC while Clemson was still farting around.
      Meanwhile, Texas AM will make a big deal of this and pound their chests up and until it’s 28-0 in the 2d quarter and their 2022 class all enters the portal when they go 8-5 again next year.
