Just not a paid one.
Apparently, the concern of both the NCAA and the SEC is that Meyer, who’s appearing on ESPNU’s marathon 10-hour signing day coverage, would be speaking about potential recruits even as he’s still a paid employee of the University of Florida. Obviously, that could very much be construed as a violation.
That’s nice. Now, does anyone know if Corch referring to Florida as “we” during the broadcast could be construed as a violation?
We as in the royal We.

To ponder legal points as they relate to the NCAA.. I wonder if Urb can now be considered a ‘booster’ of the UF program? Does he / will he donate money (even if its just to purchase season tickets?). It will be interesting to see.

But.. it’s not like he can’t get a spot in the AD’s box for the rest of his life.

How about the in kind benefits? They gave him an office didn’t they? Are he, Mrs. Corch, and the Corchlets still on gatorcare health insurance? That’s no small beer.

I’m guessing that all goes away when he takes the job with ESPN. He’s now on their plan.

At least he only coached at one national university. Lou Holtz is still doing work for every one of the 80 schools he coached for, extolling the virtues of those schools and picking them to win every game they play at the very top of his lisp.

Let’s see, that would be three places he got caught cheating…or is it two?
(FWIW…he was losing his job at Arkansas when he left for Notre Dame(?)

Don’t forget whichever school his son is coaching at. If i remember correctly, I think he didn’t evenmake a pick for the 2009 season liberty bowl.

Indeed. Gator fans everywhere will alway appreciate the championships he won for Florida and his record against rivals, most notably against UGA. In particular, they will always treasure the two “time-out!” calls at the end of the 2008 Florida/Georgia game.
