Nice long slide show, via Dawg Post.
“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Most impressive looking of the freshmen to me were Herrera and Scott-Wesley. They both looked like they had done some serious working out and physically could play today.

Looks like CTG has slimmed down.

Indeed sir. I could probably shed a few myself. It’s going to be a hot one there between the hedges against the chickens. We better get in shape for it and I am talking about our fans. LOL.

Everyone looking pretty good. Rome looks to be more in the mold of Leonard Pope. Crowell looks in shape. Richard Samuel is a BEAST.

Agreed Samuel looks like a GIANT.

If Samuel holds on to the ball, he is going to hurt some people. Should soften them up for Carlton up the middle. (Just kidding)
Samuel/Crowell could turn into our own version of thunder and lightening.

I always wished back in 2009 they’d have given the ball more to samuel. Crazy as it sounds I felt like he was a 40 carry a game back where he would get better as the game wore on. We’ll see how he does this time around.

Tree stands out in every picture he’s in, even in the background. The picture up top is a great example. Hard to imagine with that size he moves like he does.

Being a safety turned linebacker I was concerned he might be a little smallish. Not worried about that anymore. The way he hits people in his high school film is borderline disturbing. I hope to see some of that this year now that he’s bulked up a little.

What exactly is going on with Big Bad John in that photo?
He’s not injured right?

Evidently he had trouble with the heat.

Glad the first game is in the dome then.

I had trouble with the heat yesterday, too. Thank goodness I didn’t have to play football in it. Seriously, I respect the hell out of those guys for getting out there and powering through it, it’s hotter than usual and I’m sure it sucks out there.

Making the heat take more of a toll on 6 was the fact that the D Line performed their drills on Turf , while the other players were on grass. Big # 6 excelled at the 10 220’s at mid week . This speaks to his level of conditioning. “Heat related” per The Senator is right on target.

Yeah, in one of those photos his jersey, tee shorts were half on, pull out, and he looked uncomfortable. The humidity will break you. Maybe playing in the dome is a break for the smurfs?

The Dawgs are moving their practices to the morning after Thursday due to heat. It is interesting to notice the photo of the heat. You can be in great shape, hydrate, and the heat will take you down…
Now why did this coaching staff wait to make this decision. High schools are under a 20 minute rule now after the two deaths. Most high school programs in south Georgia practice in the morning…5, 6 starting times…even if you have to flip the lights for awhile. Why take a chance with a heat problem or an injurty related to heat. Their first game is in the Dome. Don’t think heat will be an issue there. You can work toward getting use to the heat, but I’d be on the cautious side during high heat.

I know they don’t have classes at 5 or 6 am, but I believe some of them are taking classes and finals for Summer semester.

I don’t know how good Crowell, Samuel, or Malcolm will end up being but they all three look the part. Samuel looks like he has shoulder pads on in some of the pictures. Beast. I still see a lot of potential with that guy if he can just run a little lower to the ground, keep his balance. He doesn’t look fun to tackle at all.

Yea, that’s my hope too HK. Samuel was tripped up too easily his freshman year. Here’s to hoping he can power through those shoestring tackles. He looks gigantic.

He was 19 back then, and 20 someodd pounds lighter. If he can break tackles but still retain most of that old speed, it could be a good move back after all.

Geathers looks bigger than Big John. If I was the 270 pound center from BSU I would be doing some estate planning. The best he can hope for is that our Nose gets tripped up while running over his broken body.

I’m hoping that coach Grantham is on the same nutrition program as the players… a lean, mean, fighting machine!

I’ve always been in favor of making the coaches run steps when we lose, just like players have to run when they screw-up. Maybe Tereshinski is cracking down on everybody, including CTG for those 3rd down lapses, not just the out-of-shape players.
