There’s usually something tempting you can find on the ol’ buffet.

On that first Mills pass (Florida video) the receiver dropped the ball before he crossed the goal line.

Andre Ware just couldn’t help himself. He leaned on the “Murray needs to win the big game” meme to support placing him in the third spot. Maybe Andre gave up on revealing original thought after his orgasmic praise of Driskel during the Florida-Kentucky game. What’s Andre’s opinion worth?

Andre’s opinion is worth a little less than two buckets of horse manure. At least you can use the manure to fertilize the garden. I’m afraid that if UGA went 14-0 this year and won the crystal football Murray would still be tagged with the “Can’t win the big one” in future discussions. While I think AM is better than McCarron (biased maybe), I think you have to give AJ the nod at #1 due to the championships he has won. He also played very bad against LSU until the last drive. Then he made every throw. I think Manziel won the Heisman on one play; the bobbled snap roll out TD pass against BAMA. One QB (can’t remember name), was highly touted but they said he lost two games and could not win the Heisman. Well, I believe JM lost two games as well; but because he beat BAMA he won the trophy. I rank SEC QB’s thus: McCarron; Murray; Everyone else. I no longer respect Andre Ware’s opinion, especially after he talked about how good Driskell was (I didn’t see it); and then for the ACC QB’s he ranked the FSU guy that has not even taken a snap in a live game yet. If I was a returning QB in the ACC I would be PO’d. Just my two cents worth here.

You’d best look at Manziel’s passing AND rushing stats all year before you drop him into the “everybody else” file.

He wins the Trophy with or without the ‘Bama upset. (Thanks to T’eo’s girlfriend, perhaps).

I’m not trying top be critical, but is Lynch really the second best TE in the country? I’m no expert on TE talent across the sport, so I’m asking out of ignorance more than anything.

If your gonna judging by size, speed, past production and possible production this year in the best Conference in the league he is.

John Swofford’s son is on the executive management team at Raycom, so it’s very likely a deal will be cut. But outside the Carolinas, Louisville, and upstate New York, who will watch the ACC network?

They are competing with the pro teams in most markets.

Don’t forget GT in the ATL market and FSU…But the question to ponder is would ACC roundball be exclusively on the conference network? I don’t know how it could work with so many out of conference games in BB. I agree with your point that ACC football would mostly be a big yawn for much of the region.

  6. 1) That picture of Saban has burned my retinas.
    2) Florida lost a ton of talent on defense and the only effective players on offense. I am glad Trey Burton is a senior (finally). They couldn’t possibly win as many ugly games as they did last year, right?

Perhaps one can impugn saban’s motives as self serving because theoretically the deepest team should win out over a schedule that causes more attrition. That said, I don’t disagree with him, and I find it odd that there is so much resistance to such.

Even if there was no playoff system or expansion coming, if every BCS school went to 9 games and those whose rivals were NOT out of conference were held to a standard of playing a GT/FSU/Clemson level opponent, the game would be better for it. Is it possible that “unbeaten” teams become extinct? Perhaps, but then the “curve” would shift, and we are simply comparing the best “two loss” teams instead of the best “one loss” team. Those two loss teams would not be worse than the one loss teams of today. they simply replaced tennesse tech with say a team that averages out to say Miss State.

Again a cynic might argue that Saban figures he has an 80% chance of winning those incremental games, whereas LSU, UGA, and UF might have a 65% chance, which certainly helps his cause a bit. I tend to think it is about the fact that games between teams that should theoretically be competitive are better for the fans and the sport than cupcake games…

Seems to me Connelly went a long way around his elbow to get to his arse to reinforce the notion to JortNation that UGA doesn’t actually have a two game winning streak in the series. It’s merely one UGA win and one UF loss. Yeah. That’s the ticket.

Well, if you’re of a certain age, back in the day, that was pretty much all you heard from the other side. Florida fans and even the J’ville media seemed to have a hard time admitting the Dawgs were just better back when we dominated the series. On the other hand, despite the long period of darkness, I still think the natural order of things is Dawgs beat Gators.

“The ACC wants its own network,”

How about PBS? I’d love to watch Bill Moyers and Tavis Smiley discuss the Wake/Maryland game and such.

Sideline reporter would have to be Charlayne Hunter-Gault. I’d hope she’d take digs at Tech whenever possible. Picture CPJ running off the field for half-time and Charlayne runs up with mic in hand: “Coach, your team is down 21 points, is your brand of genius the idiot savant type?”

Saban may be an all round sheisty asshole but you got to admit he’s one good looking SOB.

It’s easy to be good when you’ve got Amari Cooper to throw to and an all-world line that rarely allows a defensive player to touch you. Cooper is back but the line is gone, I guess we’ll see how MCarron fares this time around.

I love the page on the UF pass offense. It was quite a show (to UGA’s expense) back in the 90’s. The Sanford Stadium game in ’95 was a clinic on how to kick Ray Goff’s ass every which way but loose.

Damn Senator, I wasn’t prepared for in your face, 10×12 portrait of Saban on my computer. Especially with that shit eating grin, which is rare.
