Scapegoat in Gainesville

No doubt this will fix everything.

A person familiar with the situation says Florida has fired offensive coordinator Brent Pease after the program’s first losing season since 1979.

What offensive coordinator in his right mind – excuse me, what decent offensive coordinator in his right mind – would take that job with the thin ice Boom is on right now?  Would Kerwin Bell answer mama’s call with the right contract?  Beats me.

UPDATE:  For some reason, that link is dead, but here’s one to a more detailed story, including the news that the o-line coach has been canned as well.

Al Borges doesn’t have anything to do..

Seriously, I can see Foley going big for Cam Cameron. Don’t know if he would leave, but he could get a nice bump out of listening.

    Dan Mullen left in 2009.
    Steve Addazio left in 2010.
    Charlie Weis left in 2011.
    Brent Pease leaves now.
    New guy leaves in ????

Who in their right mind would want to play QB for Florida now?

Mullen left for a head coaching job, as did Charlie Weis. Addazio left because head coach Meyer left, so no surpise there either. Pease is the only one leaving due to job performance.

What they need an OL coach? I hear this guy by the name of Friend is awesome.

But the problem is their S&C program…? I mean, that’s why we have all the injuries or so I’m told by some here.

Isn’t Foley the guy who said, “What should be done eventually, must be done immediately.”? Florida keeping Muschamp makes zero sense to me. Has a forced coordinator change ever worked out?

Not that I can think of. Also this will hurt recruiting for the next 1-2 seasons until they decide on either Muschamp or a new HC. This is esp bad for UF with FSU, Miami, & UCF on the rise.

Look at the Florida schedule for ’14. The Gators have games against Bama, LSU, Missouri, Georgia, Vandy, South Carolina and FSU. That’s 8 likely losses. What top HC would take the job with the current condition the Florida program and facing a schedule like that? They’re going to let Muschamp take the heat for all those losses next year and fire him after next season, then hire the savior.
