That sound you hear is Edward R. Murrow rolling over in his grave.

I just want to say that if this is what passes for journalism these days, I’m fine with being labelled a mere blogger.

Just awful.  Although I will grant you that Clay Travis probably wishes he’d have asked that question.

UPDATE:  Second place prize goes to whomever thought it was important to interview these morons.

No audio here at work. Can anyone translate for me?

The reporter wanted to know if the victim had any affiliation with the University of Alabama. The lawyer said I have no idea. This chic must be from the new SEC Network , working as a Finebaum intern.

    What. The. Hell?!

This case started in January, folks, back when nobody knew Winston was going to be this good and before anyone figured FSU would be headed for a national title bid. I need to know who this reporter is and who they work for, because for the first time in my life I am going to write an angry letter. This MORON just dignified a rumor that a woman levied a rape accusation FOR A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. And what’s worse, it’s a woman that did it.

FSU, a place more “like a traditional Islamic country turned radical and defensive, its craziest pilgrims whirling around Doak Campbell Stadium, the black cube at the center of their Mecca….It’s the same culture that’s now undergoing paroxysms of wild paranoia to spin Benghazi- and Trayvon-style conspiracy theories that might explain these obviously baseless allegations against Jameis Winston, the teenager whose prophetic power can reduce old white men to joyful sobbing.”

Senator, while it is not always true, in your particular case it is a compliment to be said to be “just a blogger.”

To have spent a long, long…very long time in the media and find this buffoonery wide spread makes my head ache.

No doubt the lady will go to work for Fox. She will fit very well.

As a former Tallahassee resident with many friends and family that are FSU alums/fans, I can state that the perception of law enforcement as to FSU athletes is very similar to our perception of how law enforcement treats athletes in Athens.

    A couple of examples:

A few years ago, a star receiver was found asleep in his car in a restaurant parking lot. Instead of helping him out, he was given a DUI.

In 2005, Willie Meggs tried a player on a weak rape charge and the jury acquitted the player in 30 minutes (for the non-lawyers around, a 30 minute jury verdict in the south means that there was nearly unanimous agreement without any argument). When questioned about his decision to prosecute, Meggs stated that he “held athletes to a higher standard.”

The speculation from people in Tally was that these accusations were so egregious that there was actually an investigation to determine whether to charge the alleged victim with false report of a crime.

Auburn is so disappointed right now…their next QB slipped right through their hands with today’s rulings!

His and one other DNA matched. May have not been criminal or consensual, but it sure appears to be abusive. Reported she was intoxicated. Do you think he would even be on the roster at UGA. Be hard to vote him in as a frosh with this reputation as a sexual abuser of women. He can work at NBC.

This. Justice or not, the stink of rapist will follow him for years. It’s clear to me that a drunken gang bang happened and she was simply too drunk to remember the details. IE, not enough evidence.

I’m now pulling for anyone but FSU.

Considering her BAC when tested at the hospital was .03 (and that was not very long after the alleged incident occurred), I have a hard time believing she was drunk. No way IMO she consumed 5-6 shots and a beer as claimed.

For those of us in NW GA, this sure sounds like Marcus Dixon all over again.

May need to check your facts. Accounts by the victim, Winston, and witnesses do not indicate a gang bang. Instead, she states she was with another man earlier that evening and the DNA matches that man and none of the guys with Winston.
Not an angel but a dude that hooks up with a willing girl he meets out is not an abuser of women.

I speculate that the debutante in question saw this as an opportunity to enhance her investment portfolio. An recent honorarium from a rich FSU booster may have provided the conclusive evidence.

  14. The big rumor is the girl involved has transferred to Alabama that is my best guess on why the question was asked.
