The saddest thing I saw yesterday.

Sometimes, a man just wants to be left alone with his mediocre pizza after losing a shot at the national title.

There’s a Papa Johns commercial lurking somewhere in there, Corch.

This will forever be in the mind of Urban Meyer.

“I kept saying to him all along, ‘What’s it going to be like when we lose?'” Meyer’s wife, Shelley, said outside Ohio State’s locker room. “This what I’ve been looking for. Now I want to see how he reacts.”

Irwin is going to be thirsty. Even more so if he is matched up today with Nick in the Sugar Bowl

I certainly hope tOSU has to play Bama. The wrath of Saban will be something to behold.

It’s a dream bowl matchup. And the good thing is that Nick always has time for wrath against Irwin even when Nick is not coming off a loss.

“Eventually, Meyer got up from the golf cart and walked slowly out into the night, with his eyes cast down toward the ground, and the regret of one fateful play stinging him like a bitter wind.”

‘Cause some things just bear repeating…

Better coaching. Better team. Papa Dantonio’s.

“Better team”…better products through coaching…Meyer puts great talent on the field, once it a while it coalesces into a team.

That Meyer is regarded, in some circles anyway, as a far superior coach to both Dantonio and Mark Richt is, to me, far worse than the thief and rapist theme.

Maybe I am wrong about Meyer, but he appears to me to actually be all the bad things people say about Spurrier who don’t know Spurrier.

Of course this may be only in the Mind of Scorpio Jones. 🙂

Spurrier’s a dickhead, but he doesn’t represent the skewed priorities that are too common at all levels of athletics the way Meyer does. I’ve often said Meyer seems like a broken person. He’s like a sleazy lawyer who spends all his time in the office at the expense of everything else that makes a life.

Not only did TOSU get beat, breaking Meyer’s streak, but TOSU is now the second best team in a mediocre conference….kinda like Clemson?

It almost makes me sad for Corch. Nah! Must have been gas. Glad he lost – made my day.

A while back, I entered the phase of my existence where I realized that it was pointless to get too worked up about sports personalities. They’re entertainers playing a role, and I figured there was no reason for me to care one way or the other about their public personalities. Coupled with the fact I don’t know any current athletes/coaches personally, this seemed like an especially sensible approach.

    But, God, I loathe Corch.

Corch UM is having the realization set in…the realization that he will never again coach the kind of talent that he had at Florida and face the kind of talent he faced in the SEC. He once stood at the top of the mountain and didn’t realize any other direction was down. Now he’s just part of the over-hyped, worn out myth that OSU football has really always been. He should leave before the ghost of Woody Hayes shoves him on down the hill.. OSU, indeed. Corch UM should thank the MSU Spartans from sparing him a REAL humiliation against Auburn. Maybe they’ll get Clemson and he can smack a Clemson player on the sideline.

That play call will forever be in the mind of Urban Meyer and it’s going to be a big deal.

  18. Going for it was the right call. And if you called the play to counter what the defense did, then you made the right play call. In football, as in life, sometimes shit happens. Sometimes you do everything you are supposed to do, and you still don’t win. Sometimes the other guy gets lucky. Sometimes they are just better. For Urbz to believe that he and he alone controlled the destiny of the outcome, and the only thing that could stop his team was him making a mistake… that is so egotistical that I bet A-Rod is taken aback by it.

He should have pointed and stared at the Sparty defense.
